The elevator started moving on its own the moment Samus stepped on. The instant it did, she swiveled around to keep her canon trained at the doors. Taking a moment to survey the elevator for other entrances, she sees only a hatch above her, and a camera in the corner. Two possible points of entry. With the elevator moving, the main doors are the less likely point of entry, so Samus keeps her gun pointed at the hatch above her. A minute passes; nothing has moved. Yet Samus stays vigilant, aiming at the hatch, ready to fire at a moment's notice. The buttons indicate they are approaching the top floor. As the elevator begins to slow, having nearly reached the top, the bounty hunter switches her focus to the main doors, satisfied that nothing is coming through the top hatch.
The doors open, revealing an aging man sitting at a curved desk, a few holograms hover to his side. Surveillance of the rooms she was in earlier, she realizes. After a moment of stillness from both parties, Samus lowers her arm canon halfway, removing herself as an active threat to the man before her, but still in a position to retaliate in an instant, should the need arise.
"I mean you no harm" The man says, raising his arms in a pacifying gesture. "I am Professor Ozpin, headmaster of Beacon Academy."
They speak English here. Surprising, but convenient "Samus Aran."
"I see. I take it that you are the lost child those 'Chozo' told me about? I'm pleased you finally decided to visit us."
"I only recently learned of my parent's true origins. I likely would have visited sooner, had I known."
"Well, let me just say, you picked a fantastic time to visit. The 40th Vytal Festival, a bi-annual celebration of the lasting peace between the kingdoms of Remnant -our world- is taking place right now, here in Beacon."
"Is that so?"
"I'm sure you'll be pleased to know you have one living relative here. Her name is Glynda Goodwitch, and she is a trusted ally of mine. I'll be sure to introduce the two of you later. For now, I recommend that you go out and experience what Remnant has to offer. The Vytal Festival only takes place every two years after all. It's the perfect to meet people from all around the world."
Samus thinks for a moment before a small smile crosses her face. "I think that's a great idea. I could certainly use some R&R after my last mission."
Ozpin raises an eyebrow at that but decides to not press it. Let her have her R&R for now. She doesn't give him any reason to believe that she'll be a threat to others, and he knows for a fact Samus doesn't work for Salem. They can hold a more in-depth conversation later.
"Ah, before you leave," Ozpin interjects just as Samus started for the elevator. "A few things. First: You'll need some Lien -the global currency." Ozpin hands Samus some colorful cards.
"Thanks. I know how money works, so you don't have to explain it to me."
"That saves me quite some trouble," Ozpin chuckles. "But the second thing is, I think it would be best for you to remove that suit. While it is common practice for many people to walk around armed," It is? Samus raises an eyebrow at that, but lets Ozpin continue to explain. "It is frowned upon for non-security personnel to carry weaponry. On top of that, to my knowledge, nobody makes a habit of walking around in such an advanced suit of armor."
"I understand. I wasn't planning on walking out like this."
"Good. Third, and finally, basic information about Remnant you will need. This will take some time, but is absolutely essential, so please bear with me on this."

There was nothing to bear. The information she received was fascinating. People's souls protect them from harm; large beasts called Grimm seek out humanity's destruction and are attracted to negative emotions; some people have an animal trait, such as cat ears, or a tail. She's still digesting the information as she descends the elevator. Most interesting of all was the profession of Huntsmen. Men and women dedicated to the protection of humanity, trained from a young age to fight off the Grimm. If such a profession was widespread, then the Grimm must be a greater threat to these people than she initially thought. Heck, the fact that they are training children at such a young age is more than concerning. However, at the very least, Ozpin has assured her that things are not so dire that they are drafted; Every huntsman and Huntress chose this path for themselves, and they are all well aware of the risks. But with the information she received, she has no doubt in her mind that Remnant would be classified a death world. Samus suspects the only reason the people have survived this long is because of the superhuman abilities huntsmen are alluded to possess. He didn't tell her about the woman in the basement, but he had promised her a more in-depth conversation at a later time, which is good enough for her right now. Since she has time now, she decides to pull up the scan on Ozpin.

Ozpin [Last Name Unknown]
Human-Remnant, Male
Ozpin appears to hold some position of power, given his office's location. His words and recognition of your name suggest that he was the first point of contact between the people of this world, and the Chozo. His aura is magnitudes more powerful than the comatose woman.
Multiple anomalies detected regarding Ozpin's bio-field. Most anomalies bare some resemblance to that of the comatose woman. One singular anomaly shares some similarities with one found in the woman. Suspected to be his semblance. Insufficient data. Unable to identify semblance.

As the elevator slows, having reached the ground floor, Samus is enveloped by a golden light. After a second, the golden light disappears in a wave starting from her head, revealing a young woman with blond hair tied back in a ponytail and pale skin, wearing a short sleeveless orange top with ornate glowing designs on the back, and matching orange shorts. Her shoulders and right elbow are coated in feathers, as are her legs from the knee down, likely continuing past her heeled boots that reach just over halfway up her calves. Around these feathers, her skin is discolored, being a shade of grey before blending into her usual skin tone. Her left hand and forearm are tinted a very slight green, ending at the elbow, where the discolors clash. It's subtle, but if you know what to look for, it's impossible to miss.
