"Dr. Xanther, absent pa rin daw po si Dr. Alvarez eh." I immediately stood up after hearing what the nurse said.

Three days have passed, but Vaine is still nowhere to be found. I've called her countless times and flooded her with messages, but she hasn't responded to any of them. I even reached out to Sunny and the others, but they have no idea where she is either. I went to her condo, only to find it empty. I searched all the places she usually go, but she wasn't there.

My last chance is to talk to her dad. I'll talk to Mr. Alvarez.

I miss Vaine. I miss my baby so much. Not knowing where she is drives me crazy. I need to find her.

"Is Mr. Alvarez inside?" I asked his assistant when I arrived at his office, and she immediately nodded.

"Yes, Doc. He's inside his office." she replied.

"Please tell Mr. Alvarez that I want to talk to him." I told his assistant.

"Sige po, wait lang po." the assistant responded before entering the office.

While waiting outside, I tried messaging and calling Vaine again, but she was still out of coverage.

"Dr. Xanther, pwede na po kayong pumasok." I quickly entered as soon as I heard what his assistant said.

"Dr. Xanther, what can I do for you?" Mr. Alvarez immediately asked as soon as I entered his office.

He was casually seated on his swivel chair, leaning back while staring at me seriously.

"Good morning, sir. I apologize for the disturbance, but may I ask where Vaine is?" diretsong tanong ko.

"Why?" he quickly asked me.

"She's been absent for three days, and no one knows her whereabouts. I just want to know if you happen to know where she is." I responded, which made him nod his head.

"Why are you looking for her? What does it matter to you if she didn't show up, Dr. Xanther?" Mr. Alvarez asked me suspiciously na parang hinuhuli ako.

"Sir, I'm her professor and I'm also the one supervising the interns here. I'm responsible for whatever happens to them," I responded.

"Are you sure that's the only reason?" Mr. Alvarez asked with a smirk.

"Sir?" I asked, furrowing my brow at his words.

I knew there was a deeper meaning behind what he said, but I chose to ignore it. What was important to me now was finding Vaine.

"Well, Vaine went somewhere to take care of some important matters. I believe she'll be back soon." Mr. Alvarez said while looking at his calendar.

I haven't heard from her for three days, and I'm already losing my mind. How many more days should I wait? I don't even know if I can handle it.

"May I ask where?" I asked again because I wasn't satisfied with his answer.

"Is that still a part of being a professor?" he said, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

I couldn't respond to his question because I didn't know what to say either.

"Well, it's confidential, so I cannot disclose further information, Dr. Xanther." he said instead, avoiding the topic.

I let out a sigh, trying to hide my frustration since I still didn't get an answer.

"I understand, sir. Thank you for your time." I replied with a forced smile and then excused myself.

I stormed out of Mr. Alvarez's office with a frown. He wouldn't tell me where Vaine was? Well, I'll find her myself.
