ISABELLA MATTIA✥
Today I grab a coffee with Charlotte after our class. She's the only person on this campus that I actually believe is genuine. She's far too innocent and kind. I'm glad I've met someone like her because she makes me feel less lonely.
We sit outside on a bench near campus, enjoying the rays of sunshine whilst people walk by. "I'm already stressing about this assignment," Charlotte sighs and I give her a side eye.
She's the top of the class. Easily.
"Don't, please," I roll my eyes. "You're the one telling me everything you know, remember? I should be worrying."
"Still, I don't want to mess it up."
I raise my coffee cup to my lips and take a long sip. "Trust me, you won't."
Charlotte chews on her lips as she ponders and I glance over my shoulder. My eyes collide with Elio's as he stands back, giving us the space that I need. From here he can't hear our conversation, not that it matters because we're talking about class. But still, I appreciate the needed alone time.
When I look back to Charlotte I spot a familiar face behind her in the distance. "Oh fuck's sake," I grumble under my breath when I notice a group of people walking towards us.
"What?" Charlotte jumps and glances around her.
My eyes narrow on Sophia and Lucia as they rush towards me, spotting me at the same time. I exhale a breath and lean back against the bench as they inch nearer. "Just a bunch of assholes."
"Isabella!" Sophia exclaims. "How are you? I heard that you had to go to the hospital. Are you better?"
I don't look at her. Instead I focus on Jenson and Kory as they stop behind them. My jaw grinds together at the sight of his face. I want to fucking claw it off. "Yeah," I grit. "I'm fine. Thank you so much for your concern."
Sophia flinches from my tone. "Sorry but did we do something wrong?"
"No," I flash her a sarcastic smile. "No. But I'm just surprised by all of your presence."
Because why would anyone want to actively hang out with Jenson when he's a grade A cunt? I have no idea what that girl sees in him. I doubt he even knows where the clitoris is or even knows it exists.
"Why?" Sophia seems hurt. We barely know each other.
I shrug and focus on her darkening eyes. "I don't want to spend time with you guys anymore. Simple."
My gaze flickers to Charlotte and she looks like she wants the ground to eat her whole. I bet the girl hasn't been in a verbal fight in her life–let alone a physical one. But she's not involved in this and I will stand my ground against these airheads.
Sophia snorts. "Wow," she folds her arms over her chest. "So I let you into our friendship group and you throw it back in our face like that?"
I roll my eyes. "Please, it's been weeks. Especially if that one is anywhere near me."
Jenson steps forward when I gesture towards him. I was waiting for his entrance.
"Oh come on, precious," he drawls lazily, flashing those dark eyes at me. "What happened at the lake was an accident. Why are you acting like we had something to do with it?"
"Just stop it, Jenson," Kory's voice echoes from behind him.
My eyes collide with his for a second and I scowl. He wants to stand up for me yet still decides to be friends with this idiot.
