After the game was finished, they were instructed to go back to the dormitory. Doing as they said, Daeho helped Eden up and got her out of the bloody room. They were at the front with Jun-hee and Myunggi whisky the oldest ones were behind them.

Gi-hun broke the silence as he walked behind Eden whose body was still tense, "when we get back, let's count the number of people remaining." He suggested.

"Why?" Young-il wondered.

"If we count the numbers of Os and Xs, we'll be able to see who's likely to win the next vote." He explained.

"We'll have to hope more people from the other side died." Young-il said, making Jung-bae stiffen as they continued walking.

The others reached the main room and moved towards where they always sat. Daeho was about to speak up when Jung-bae interrupted.

"Eden..." the girl turned around with dry blood on her face and stiffened, "can I talk to you?"

She glanced at Daeho and the others then nodded, following the old man to be a few beds away.

When neither spoke, Eden raised her eyebrows.

"Right..." he paused, exhaling loudly. "I need to confess something." He told her, making her nod. "You told Daeho a few times that you didn't trust Young-il, right?" He asked.

She furrowed her eyebrows, glancing at Young-il who just had looked away from the pair. She turned to Jung-bae, "why do you ask?" She asked in a quiet tone.

"The last round, I was in the room with him." He began to say, "there was someone else in the room, and instead of throwing him out...he—he snapped his neck." He confessed.

Eden's body froze, "what?"

"He killed him." He repeated.

The girl bit her lip, staying quiet for a second then shook her head, "maybe he did it so both of you could pass the round, no? If they saw there were three people then you would've have been eliminated." She explained.

"No, Eden. He..." he trailed off with a heavy sigh, scooting closer to her. "There wasn't any sign of remorse, I swear. He did it with no hesitation." He told her with horror.

"What're you trying to say then?" She asked, "that he's a killer?" She said, shrugging. "This place is making us all go crazy, Jung-bae. He did what he had to do."

Jung-bae sighed, looking away from her with disappointed. He was hoping that of all people, Eden would believe him. The shock that came across his face when she said that, really broke him.

"I just... I don't trust him anymore, not after that."

Eden looked up, her eyes roaming around the room with anxiety. "Look..., I get it." She told him with honesty. "But, right now we can't risk having more enemies, okay?" He nodded slowly, "especially when we're going to be voting.  If we loose this voting, I don't think any of us will survive. Maybe he's planning something but...for now, let's just keep it between us, yeah?" She suggested.
