Chapter 44: Right and Wrong, Part 2

11:14 P.M.

Akira: Don't go, Kugisaki! Remember what Nanami said? The whole reason they kept quiet about Ieiri was to prevent-

Nobara: To prevent me from doing something reckless like this, right? That's probably the same reason why the paramedics came late getting here too. But even so, I'm not gonna leave. Not when I know he's still out there fighting.

Akari: Wait, no! Kugisaki!

Nobara ignores her pleas and continues to walk to the curtain. The moment she enters, she's faced with the destruction of Shibuya.

Mahito finds more civilians and skewers them with his arm that he transformed into a hook-like weapon.

Mahito: I should've had Dagon consume less humans so I could've had a little more in stock... Meh, this should be enough!

Yuji and Raiden chase him up a flight of stairs and Mahito slams the three bystanders into Yuji as soon as he gets to the top. Yuji falls over and tries to check on the condition of the civilians.

Yuji: Are you okay?!

Civilian: Y-Yeah!

However, his head transfigures and explodes. The blood gets in Yuji's eyes, compromising his vision and allowing Mahito to get behind him. Approaching menacingly from behind, the cursed spirit prepares to finish the fight for good by shaping his fist into a large mace.

Raiden: I don't think so!

Raiden gets in front of Yuji and charges his fist with cursed energy and approaches Mahito.

Nobara and Mahito's double continue fighting. Nobara avoids her opponent's hands.

Mahito: She's avoiding my hands... Either the 7:3 Hairstyle Sorcerer or Yamaguchi warned her. It's fine though, I'm just a double, after all. I can change my form like the original, but I can't manipulate transfigured humans or other souls. But thanks for wearing yourself down for me!

He transforms his arm into an extending spear-like spike that Nobara narrowly dodges. The tip cuts her cheek and chops a tiny bit of her hair before shifts into a large ball of spikes. 

Mahito: I'm not fighting those two. I can manipulate my form as much as I want without incurring risks.

Nobara dodges to the right to avoid being hit and Mahito comes right at her to capitalize.

Trading blows in the collision, Mahito shapes his left hand into a claw and slashes open Nobara's left shoulder while hits him in the face with her hammer.

Mahito: I thought told ya... That won't work on me. Or did you forget that already?

Nobara: I know that, but sometimes you just gotta try!

Mahito: Sooo lame!

Unamused with her answer, Mahito enthusiastically avoids two nails that Nobara sends at him. He takes his eyes off Nobara for a moment, allowing her to climb up on the side of a building and get above him.

Mahito: Up there...

Nobara: Here you go!

Nobara drops several nails at Mahito's feet and activates Hairpin, not seeming to have any effect at all. Immediately after Nobara jumps back down towards the ground, confusing Mahito with her erratic movement.
