Drowning

169 2 0

My arms reach for the surface

The light shining through promises me my next breath

My lungs crave to be filled with air again

Suddenly there's a wave, and I get pushes down

I push up, but go nowhere

My lungs cant hold any longer

All the air that was left in me is gone

I scream for a savor, I scream for help only to have water pour into my chest

The water sinks me like bricks

I go down, its darker, colder, lonelier

My lungs burn, my eyes blur, and my will leaves

I know its the end, and I know its so easy to die this time

I give up

My eyes drift close, and my pain goes away

I don't want help any more

I'm not drowning, I'm being set free
