As soon as they reached the villa, Little Snake began looking for Fei. He finally found him in the living room, holding a bell and looking at it.
"Fei" Little Snake called out warmly.
Fei looked up, and his face lit up when he saw Little Snake. "Ah-Cheng" he said, smiling. But his smile faded when he noticed the Dragon King standing nearby with a bunch of bags. He noticed this look that dragon king giving him since earlier as if saying stay away from the little snake.
"I’ll go find Qing Geng" Fei said quickly, standing up to leave.
"Wait" Little Snake said, gently pushing him back into his seat. "I brought you some presents."
He started pulling items out of the bags with excitement. "Look, You used to love these pinwheel toys"
Fei’s eyes glowed as he looked at the colorful pinwheel and other gifts. The Dragon King quietly left the room, giving them space.
"I heard you’re sealed in this villa" Little Snake said after a moment.
Fei looked down sadly. "When I came here, I caused a plague that spread through the entire town. It was a disaster." He explained to Little Snake how he had lived alone in the mountains but came to the town because he couldn’t bear the loneliness. That’s where he met Qing Geng. "Bai Zhi, the goddess, sealed me here with Qing Geng because she’s resistant to the plague. It’s my fault. I should’ve stayed in the mountains. I trapped her here because of me."
"Wanting freedom and wanting to live like others is not your fault" Little Snake said gently, wiping away the tears on Fei’s face.
But someone in hiding tensed up at the sight.
"Dragon King, what are you doing?" Ying Lei asked, catching the Dragon King peeking from behind the door.
"Me?" The Dragon King said, pretending nothing was wrong. "Nothing."
He glanced back at Little Snake and saw him hugging Fei. Before Ying Lei could say more, he stormed into the room.
"Little one" the Dragon King called for little snake. Little Snake looked back at him.
"Let’s go. We need to discuss plans for tomorrow with the others" the Dragon King said, his tone serious.
"Okay" Little Snake said, standing up. He turned to Fei and smiled. "See you later."
Fei nodded silently, watching as Little Snake left with the Dragon King.
They discussed a plan for catching the troublesome creatures, deciding how many people to bring and what they would need. Once everything was settled, they agreed to go to bed early.
"Why are you following me?" Little Snake asked as the Dragon King walked into his room instead of going to his own. Before Little Snake could say anything more, the Dragon King grabbed the back of his head and kissed him, his lips pressing firmly against Little Snake's in an open-mouthed kiss.
Little Snake's eyes widened in surprise, as the Dragon King deepened the kiss, his hand sliding to cup Little Snake's cheek. Little snake felt his body respond, his hands tentatively gripping the Dragon King's sleeves.
The Dragon King's fingers gently tangled in Little Snake's hair, holding him in place as he kissed him deeply, his mouth moving with heated intensity. His other hand slid around Little Snake's waist, pulling him close until there was no space left between them. Tilting his head slightly, he deepened the kiss, leaving Little Snake struggling to keep up. Little Snake's hands clenched tightly against the Dragon King's robes.
When the Dragon King finally pulled back, he bit down lightly on Little Snake's lower lip-not too hard, but not gentle either.
"Don't you dare hug anyone like that again" the Dragon King said, brushing his thumb over Little Snake's lip.
