The last thing Eden could remember was the blood that was splattered on her face and the man falling to the floor with a bullet shot through his forehead. Somehow, she ended on the bed with a pillow being gripped by her arms.
Every time she blinked, she saw the same man, every time.
"Gi-hun. What the hell is that creepy doll? It shoots people with its eyes." Jung-bae asked, causing Eden to look at them.
"It wasn't the doll that was shooting. It's something else." She mumbled behind them.
Both men turned to the younger woman who still didn't blink. Jung-bae looked back to his friend and tilted his head in question.
"Seung-hyun's right. There are shooters." He responded.
"How do you know so much?" The friend asked again.
Eden decided to stop listening, she let herself fall back on the bed and hug the pillow. If her parents knew what she was in right now, they would be so disappointed.
All of a sudden the door burst open like the first time the red suited guards came in. "Congratulations for making it through the first game. Here are the results of the first game."
Eden sat up and moved forward to peak her head out from the bed, everyone looked at the screen like she did. The number going from 456 to 365.
"out of 456 players, 91 players have been eliminated. 365 players have completed their first game." Eden's stared at the squared masked guard with so much anger, "congratulations again for making it through the first game."
Eliminated. That words kept replaying in Eden's mind. They weren't eliminated, they were killed.
"Sir! Please don't kill us!" The elderly woman cried out, pulling her son with her. "as for my son debt, I will do whatever it takes to pay you back please forgive us!"
Eden's eyes softened as the elderly woman kneeled down to the floor and begged for forgiveness. Her eyes began to water as people tagged along and began to beg, crying and yelling them to forgive them. She hugged her knees and hid her face in the space between, not allowing herself to listen anymore.
"There seems to be a misunderstanding."
The guard said with calmness. Eden's throat tightened as she looked up, watching everyone beg.
"We are not trying to harm you," they said, "we are presenting you with an opportunity."
Opportunity?
She glanced at player 388, the one who saved her, and looked at how nervous and scared he was, biting his nails with anxiety. She couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions.
"clause 3 of the consent form."
Gi-hun stepped forward, his voice being steady. Everyone fell silent and turned to him. "the games may be terminated upon the majority vote." He said, "correct?"
