☆ ☆ Y/n POV ☆ ☆

"What do you mean you've done this before? Why the fuck would you come back?" I questioned "And on top of that, why didn't you tell us that before we went in there?" I added and he looked at me defeated "I came back to stop the games. And I didn't tell you before because I knew you'd both go in there panicking. And I didn't want that to be the reason you died." He looked back down at the ground and I just sat there stunned. After a minute of awkward silence I heard the big metal doors in our room open and a bunch of masked men came in "Players, congratulations for making it through the first game. We will now reveal the results." The one with a square mask spoke in the center and I saw the number of players on the screen drop from 456 to 365. 91 people died in just the first game. Holy fuck, we've got to get out of here. I remembered back to the contract, section 3, if a majority of players vote to leave the game they will be stopped. A few people ran up to the platform and started begging the guards to let them out and the guards spoke again "There seems to be some confusion. We are not holding you hostage here. If the majority of players agree to leave the games will be terminated." His voice stayed the same tone and volume the entire time as he spoke and the vote began. It started with Gi-Hun, who voted to leave. As the vote went on, it was mostly split and it made me anxious, how can people want to stay here after what just happened? "Player 264" I walked up and voted to leave. At some point during the vote there was a huge argument and Gi-Hun revealed to the group that he'd done this before and came back. The vote was still scarily split when player 001 was called to cast his vote. Both sides started shouting their sides and I just stood near the front of the X section watching him approach the podium. He carried himself confidently, and walked with a specific grace I couldn't explain. Player one stood by the podium for a min before casting his vote. We have to stay here. You've got to be fucking kidding me. I tried to control my breathing so I didn't breakdown as everyone went back to their business. I sat down with Gi-Hun and his friend as I realized I still didn't know his name, so I turned to look at him "I never got your name." I stated simply, trying to distract myself from the situation "Jung-Bae" he didn't say anything else and my anxiety began to grow and eat away at me again. "You said you've played these games before?" A new voice joined the conversation and we all looked up. It was player 001. I was finally able to get a good look at him, short black hair falling slightly over his face as he leaned down to look at us all sitting here on the stairs his brown eyes full of interest as he asked the question "yes." Gi-Hun responded coldly and player 001 nodded "is it okay if I sit down?" He asked and pointed to the space between me and Jung-Bae I nodded and moved over, not waiting for the other 2 to respond. And he took a seat, flashing me a short smile before looking over at the 2 men. "You're part of the reason I voted to stay." He admitted and Gi-Hun whipped his head up to look at him "Why would anything I said lead you to want to stay in this place?" The anger in his voice grew as he continued speaking "Well, if you've played before, you know what the next game is. You can help us." He nodded his head and looked between the 3 of us. Well, that's comforting at least. He has a point. I rested my hand lightly on his knee "Can I ask, what's your name?" I slightly tilted my head as he turned to look at me "In-Ho, Hwang In-Ho" he smiled at me as he said it "What's yours?" He looked over my features making a small blush creep onto my face. What the hell am I doing? I just met this man, this is not appropriate. I took my hand off his knee "Y/n" I nodded and he smiled "That's pretty. It suits you." He smiled and kept looking at me for a second more before Gi-Hun spoke up again "The second game was Dalgona." He sounded defeated and In-Ho turned to look at him again "Wait, the one where you carve shapes out of sugar? Im screwed." I sighed and put my head in my hands. "And what was the easiest shape?" In-Ho inquired and Gi-Hun told us it was the triangle "Attention player, lights out is in 15 minutes." The voice over the intercom said simply. "I should get up to bed." I sighed out as I stood from the stairs "Wait" In-Ho grabbed my wrist and I looked back at him and the rest of the group still sitting down on the stairs "Maybe we should all sleep on a bunk setup together, so that we don't have to search for each other if something happens" he said confidently, dropping my wrist when he realized I'd stopped walking away and was listening. Why would anything happen to anyone during lights out? The question only lingers in my mind for a moment before I realize that more people dead means more money for them. It's a good idea. "Alright, where should we sleep?" I ask looking around at all the setups and finding a setup of 4 beds and point at it "what about over there?" I ask and look back at the group and they're all nodding in agreement. We walk over to the setup of beds and all take a bed, Gi-Hun on the top bunk, me and In-Ho in separate middle bunks and Jung-Bae on the bottom bunk. We all got settled in right in time of lights out. And all the bright white lights turned off around us just leaving the slight yellow glow from the piggy bank of money on the ceiling.
