The Hurricane Named Y/N

The bullpen was already bustling with activity when Y/N burst through the doors, a whirlwind of energy and motion. She had a half-empty coffee cup in one hand, a file in the other, and at least three pens stuck in her hair.

"Morning, everyone!" she called out, her voice bright and cheerful, though it was still barely 8:00 a.m.

Morgan smirked, leaning back in his chair. "You're chipper today, Trouble."

"Chipper? I'm focused, Morgan. Laser-focused," Y/N declared, dropping her bag on her desk and immediately spilling its contents everywhere. "I've got files to review, coffee to drink, and—" She paused, her eyes landing on Reid's desk. "Oh my God, is that a new book?"

Reid blinked, startled by her sudden attention. "Uh, yes. It's about—"

"Let me see!" Y/N dashed over, snatching the book from his hands and flipping through the pages. "Ooh, this is good stuff. I mean, I have no idea what half of it means, but it looks smart."

Reid opened his mouth to respond, but Y/N was already on to the next thing, bouncing over to Garcia's desk.

"Penelope, do you have that playlist you made for me? The one with the upbeat songs? I need focus music."

Garcia raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "Sweetheart, do you even know how to sit still long enough to listen to a playlist?"

"Of course, I do!" Y/N said, waving her off. "Well, sometimes. But that's not the point!"

From her office, JJ watched the scene unfold, her lips twitching into a fond smile. It wasn't unusual for Y/N to be a bundle of energy—her ADHD often made her the most unpredictable but also the most endearing member of the team. Still, it was clear today was going to be one of those days.

"Y/N," JJ called gently, stepping out of her office.

Y/N turned to her with wide eyes, already grinning. "Jayje! Morning! Did you see this book Reid has? And Garcia's playlist? And—"

JJ held up a hand, cutting her off. "Deep breath, sweetheart."

Y/N inhaled sharply and let out an exaggerated exhale. "Better?"

"Better," JJ said, walking closer and brushing a pen from Y/N's hair. "Now, how about we focus on one thing at a time? You've got those reports to finish, remember?"

Y/N groaned, her shoulders slumping. "But reports are so boring! I'll do them later. Or, like, tomorrow. Or—"

"Y/N," JJ said firmly, though her tone was still kind. "You're not getting out of this. Sit down, and I'll help you stay on track."

Reluctantly, Y/N shuffled back to her desk, plopping down in her chair with a dramatic sigh.

The rest of the team watched the interaction with amused expressions.

"She's like a human tornado," Morgan muttered to Hotch, who merely raised an eyebrow.

As the morning wore on, JJ kept a close eye on Y/N, gently redirecting her whenever her attention started to wander. When Y/N got up to rearrange the bulletin board for no apparent reason, JJ guided her back to her desk with a soft hand on her shoulder. When she started doodling on the edge of a file instead of reading it, JJ swapped the file for one with fewer distractions.

By lunchtime, Y/N had made some progress, though her energy was still in full force.

"You've got the patience of a saint," Morgan told JJ as they stood near the kitchenette.

JJ chuckled, glancing over at Y/N, who was now balancing a pencil on her nose while pretending to type. "She's worth it," JJ said simply.

Later that afternoon, after much coaxing (and bribing with snacks), Y/N finally finished her reports. She bounded into JJ's office, holding them up like a trophy.

"Done! I am officially the queen of productivity," Y/N declared, plopping onto the couch in JJ's office.

JJ smiled, standing to kiss her forehead. "I'm proud of you."

"Thanks, Jayje," Y/N said, leaning into her touch. "I don't know how you put up with me, but I'm glad you do."

"Always," JJ said softly, wrapping an arm around her. "Now, let's go get some coffee before you find another distraction."

Y/N grinned, her energy already bouncing back. With JJ by her side, she could take on anything—even reports.
