For once he got the hint and you heard him lay back down, he remained up behind you though, and gently rubbed your waist with his hand softly.
You didn't answer because you were worried that you did love him, not for the reasons he may have been thinking. You knew you were still attached but was it because of b/n? It was it because of the genuine love that you had on your own for him.
You started to reminisce about how he used to be and how you never had this problem deciphering your love for him. It used to be no questions ask or hesitation at all, you missed his old self a lot but he was practically exactly the same, you just weren't able to fully trust or depend on him yet.
You turned around in bed, hoping you'd be looking at the same man from three years ago. You were facing him and he met his eyes with yours once you turned around, he looked a little deep in thought too.
You felt him put his arm on your back and pull you closer to him, your face was buried in his warm chest and he was basically hugging you to sleep. You missed this.
This feeling of safety he always ensured, he was somewhat reassuring but he was better reassuring you with physical touch instead of words.
You wondered if Satoru ever felt the same, there was only one time he told you how he truly was feeling that wasn't playful. He was lonely, really lonely. You just assumed that's why he was so persistent to have another baby besides just wanting to be there, knowing that he had a family made him feel less lonely and he was consumed by it.
Maybe that's why he slept with so many women. They were able to give him a short amount of bliss, filling his loneliness in the process. Satoru's eyes shut peacefully and he looked awfully calm...tired almost.
He didn't loosen his hold on you, he kept you close to him like he needed this reassurance more than you. While he slept, you brushed his hair out from over his eyes and returned your hand back to you before going to sleep next to him.
He was especially lonely because if Kento wasn't available, Satoru would often go on these month-long missions alone. You never knew if he had a problem with it or not but he did respect the fact that Kento never wanted to become a full-time star at Jujutsu High.
You woke up before Satoru did, he looked especially peaceful with the sun beaming over his face. His hair looked more of an absolute white with the sun shining through it and you didn't want to disturb him. You remained close to him and just admired him and his features you still couldn't get over.
You wanted to see what time it was but you obviously couldn't.
"You're staring," he blurted and opened his eyes.
"Because I'm stuck. I was waiting for you to wake up,"
"I was doing the same. I've been awake for two hours," he muttered and yawned.
"Why didn't you wake me?"
"Because I don't want to die?? Why else?"
Despite your opening to finally move, you didn't. You were so warm with his arm around you and being close to him that it made it hard to, a part of you wish he didn't wake up when you did so you could stay like this a while longer.
"You're being weird now-"
You finally got up and huffed in annoyance at him, you turned and grabbed your phone and put it in the pocket of the sweatpants Satoru got for you. Satoru got up too without adding onto what he said and he grabbed his things, as did you.
The two of you silently left and he led you out the hotel room, you put your clothes back into the shopping bag and just followed behind him.
He took you back to his car and you avoided any further conversation about last night at all, you were honestly preoccupied with seeing b/n again.
