9. Brother, Who?

"Do you want to go, Rosalyn?" Cale asked her.

Rosalyn shook her head violently, "yes!" She seemed pumped up by that mention. "I wanna see the other world! What's beyond that? How advanced is the magic there? The technology?"

"Sure, you can go." Cale sighed. "How much time has passed since we left?"

"Around a month." Raon answered, hugging onto him. "I missed you so much, human!"

"Nya! Me too!"

The cats agreed.

"How much time passed for you, Cale?" Rosalyn asked.

"About 2 weeks, I believe."

Rosalyn put on her thinking cap. "So time passes faster there."

"I don't think so." Cale interrupted.

"What do you mean?"

"There's something called a dungeon in that place, along with hunters. Dungeons are gates to another world that have monsters swarming inside them and hunters take care of the monsters." Cale explained.

Rosalyn's eyes lit up as she heard the new information. 'Dungeons? Gates to another world?' Her interest skyrocketed.

"I was inside one for a bit, so it could've changed my perception of time." Cale sweated, 'I should've checked the date when I left the gate...'

"Then, how about this?" Rosalyn held out two magical devices, communication recorders.

"Will this work?" Cale sweated the information, how far can this thing reach anyways?

"Well, if it doesn't, I'll come back after spending a week there and confirm the passage of time between the two worlds."

Cale nodded. "Then I'll see you later, Rosalyn."

"I'll see you later as well, young master!" Rosalyn smiled.

"You guys.. are not from this world, are you?"

Choi Han stared at a corner of a wall. He was there, in the room, where Cale had left him.

Han Yoojin came into the room, wearing a serious expression.

Choi Han looked away. "You already know, don't you, brother?"

Yoojin bit his lower lip, his eyes started watering. "I- I'm sorry..." He cried. "I'm sorry, you had to die because of me...!"

Choi Han sighed. He approached Yoojin, opening his arms widely, taking him into a hug. "I'm not dead, I'm right here." He tried comforting the boy.

"I'm sorry.. I- couldn't say this sooner..." Yoojin wiped his tears and snot. "I kept telling myself.. it wasn't you, but it was you..."

Choi Han softly patted him on the back. "...But what happened...? How come you're still.. alive...?"

Yoojin sniffed his sorrow. He sat down on the couch, getting ready to explain. "After you died... I was able to kill that damn dragon..." He spoke with weak-willed grit, clenching onto his pants with his head down low.

"..." Choi Han watched with bitterness.

"After that, the system gave me a wishing stone as a reward. As you can guess.. it grants the user any one wish..." Yoojin smiled weakly.

"Did you.. turn back time...?"

Yoojin bit his lips, reluctant to speak. "Yes.. but I later found out that I didn't actually return back in time. They created another timeline, where you were alive... I couldn't save you, after everything..."

"Does.. he know...?" Choi Han suddenly asked.

Yoojin's eyes widened, looking up at him, shocked. "No.. but I did hint it somewhat..."

Choi Han nodded, awkwardly. He wasn't used to comforting people, Cale was usually the one who did that. "You should live in the present, Yoojin. I'm no longer your brother, your current brother is Han Yoohyun."

"..I guess that's true." Yoojin smiled warmly through the pain. He reminisced through their moments and memories together, with the current Yoohyun, not with the past Yoohyun. "Then, what about you? How come you're still alive?"

"Ah..." Choi Han was caught off guard. He awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. "I don't really know..." He shrugged. "When I opened my eyes, I found myself in another world."

Yoojin chuckled. "You always acted all serious, up until the end—"

"Kaaa."

The two flinched.

A ginormous eagle stood by their side, in between them, staring intensely at the two.

They had seemingly forgotten about the eagle, left behind by Cale.

"Did Cale forget to take him along or something?!" Yoojin panicked, there was no way he could've been able to tame or raise that thing.
