"Well, It took a whole night of walking and fighting our way through another bunch of legion assassins, but we're finally here," Six announced as he and Loona approached a small town built next to a green dinosaur statue, "Welcome to Novac." Novac was a relatively small settlement, only consisting of a few mud-brick houses, a giant green dinosaur that had seen better days, and the remains of a pre-war motel. This was unsurprising; Novac had once been a pitstop on Highway 95. Being situated on one of the only two routes to New Vegas made it an important stop-over point for people heading north. Six was excited to arrive at the small settlement, looking forward to selling some of the salvage and spare weapons he had. Loona, not so much.
"It's a dump," Loona said dryly, taking in the ramshackle wall and the imposing green dinosaur's peeling green paint, "I know it's a nuclear wasteland and all, but you would think that after 200 years, they would be able to perform some better upkeep. At least these guys have actual houses instead of just a bunch of rickety wooden shacks that would fall over if you looked at them wrong," She added before she noticed a securitron standing in front of the town's makeshift wall. "Hey, what's with the funny-looking robot?"
"That's not just any robot; that's Victor, the robot who dug me out of my grave and gave me to Doc Mitchell's," Six said. As the two of them approached, Victor noticed them and approached.
"Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit, if it ain't my old friend from Goodsprings," Victor said in his classic cowboy accent, "And it seems you picked up a friend."
"Hey, Vic, nice to see a friendly face out here," Six said. 'Though I have to ask what you're doing all the way out here?"
"Don't rightly know - I just got the notion to make my way to New Vegas. Reckon I'll find out when I get there," Victor answered. "Now, is there anything old Vic can do you for?"
"I have a question," Loona said, "Why are you following Six? It is a bizarre coincidence that you just so happen to be traveling the same route we are."
"Well, seeing how this is the only road around, I'd be a sight more surprised if we didn't run into each other from time to time," Victor answered.
"Eh, fair enough. So, what is the story of this place?" Loona asked
"Novac? Nice enough place I suppose... but just between us - when I rolled into town my skin started to itch. Watch yourself," Victor warned.
"I have no idea how a robot can get itchy, but thanks for the warning," Six said.
"No problem pardner. Be seeing you," Victor said.
"Huh, that has to be the weirdest robot I've ever seen," Loona remarked as they headed toward the motel's lobby.
"True but, he did help save my life so I am willing to put up with him. Still, I do see why he can be a little off-putting," Six said before he and Loona entered the lobby. As soon as Six shut the Door, an elderly woman approached them.
"Well. Welcome to you. You and your friend look tired from the road. Why don't you relax a spell, and let this fine town take care of you?"
"Sure thing, miss... Say what's your name?" Six asked.
"Oh, what am I doing? I got to thinking about making a good impression and plain forgot to tell you my name. I'm Jeannie May. I take care of folks here at the motel. As long as they aren't troublemakers. Now is there anything I can do for you?" Jeannie May asked.
"Well, I do have a couple of questions. Firstly, where can I find the store?" Six asked
"Well, if you need supplies, go see Cliff Briscoe at the Dino Bite Gift Shop, and tell him I sent you. I think he gets lonely standing around in that dino belly all day. He'll be glad for the company."
