The brothers continued their heartfelt reunion after Haruto finally woke up, their tearful relief still palpable in the salty sea air. However, the momentary joy was quickly disrupted as Haruto winced, his face contorting in pain. The sting radiating from his arms and legs was sharp and unrelenting—a grim, undeniable reminder of his fall.
Totoko, standing nearby, narrowed her eyes. Her gaze scanned Haruto's condition more closely, and her stomach turned. His black jacket was shredded, hanging limply off his shoulders, and his clothes were stained dark with blood and sand. Deep gashes lined his arms and legs, crimson streaks seeping through torn fabric and leaving faint trails on the ground.
Totoko (alarmed): "Haruto! Your arms and legs—they're bleeding too much!"
Her voice rang out, slicing through the tension and snapping everyone's attention to the obvious. Haruto, pale and trembling, swayed slightly, too weak to respond.
Chibita marched forward and tore off his apron with a scowl.
Chibita (gruff): "Stop gawking and help him! This'll have to do for now."
He dropped to one knee beside Haruto and began ripping the apron into strips.
Chibita (firm): "Hold still, kid. It's not much, but it'll slow the bleeding until we get the real stuff."
Totoko knelt beside him, pressing the makeshift bandages over Haruto's wounds with care. The boy flinched but didn't resist, his breathing shallow.
Totoko (softly): "Haruto, we're going to take care of you. Just hang in there, okay?"
The brothers watched, speechless, guilt and fear etched across their faces. The makeshift cloth darkened fast, soaking through at an alarming rate. Blood trailed faintly from Haruto's legs with every tiny movement.
Totoko stood, her tone urgent.
Totoko (urgent): "We need to move. These won't hold."
Osomatsu and Karamatsu quickly got to Haruto's side, supporting him between them as they carefully helped him stand. His legs wobbled beneath him, and each shallow breath came with a wince.
Osomatsu (concerned): "Haruto, can you still use your powers? Maybe just a little healing?"
Haruto didn't answer right away. His eyelids were heavy with exhaustion. Slowly, he raised one hand and summoned a faint glimmer of Blue Psychic Aura. It flickered weakly... then vanished. His hand dropped limply as a sharp jolt of pain rippled through him.
Totoko (sharp): "Stop, Haruto!"
She rushed to his side and gently took his hand in hers.
Totoko (firm): "You're too weak. You'll hurt yourself even more."
Haruto shook his head slightly, voice cracking.
Haruto (weakly): "I can fix it... I don't want to slow everyone down..."
Totoko's grip stayed steady.
Totoko (soft): "You're bleeding. You need to rest, not push your powers to the edge."
The brothers looked down at the cloth wrappings—Chibita's apron strips were soaked and barely clinging to his limbs. More blood left a thin trail in the sand behind each step.
Osomatsu placed a hand on Haruto's shoulder.
Osomatsu (gentle): "You're not slowing anyone down. Totoko's right. Let us take care of you now."
Karamatsu knelt beside him, his bravado stripped away.
Karamatsu (softly): "We're getting you home. That's the only goal right now."
