The forest trembled.
Haruto's screams echoed through the clearing as the red glow from his body erupted violently, spiraling upward into a towering tornado of blazing psychic energy. The storm twisted and surged, its winds howling with a fury unlike anything the brothers had ever seen. The heat became unbearable in seconds. The eye of the storm was no longer visible-Haruto had vanished inside it, consumed by a cyclone of his own grief and rage.
The wind tore branches from trees, sent rocks flying, and kicked up clouds of burning debris. The once-still forest had transformed into a battlefield.
The air itself rippled with red and black energy, each gust of wind laced with scorching psychic force. The sky above dimmed as if the storm had blocked out the sun entirely. Totoko and Chibita could do nothing but brace themselves as the ground beneath them quaked from the pressure.
From within the howling winds came a voice-then another. Then dozens.
They weren't just wind.
They were memories. Painful, cruel echoes from Haruto's past.
"You don't belong here."
"Why would anyone adopt a freak like you?"
"You're cursed."
"You'll never be enough."
"Just disappear already."
"You should've never been born."
Haruto screamed from within the storm, his voice raw and broken. The brothers heard it all-every cutting insult, every scar from a life filled with rejection. The voices stabbed through the roar of the tornado, each word another knife to the heart.
Todomatsu (horrified): "W-What is this...?"
Choromatsu (staggered): "These voices... they're not ours..."
Ichimatsu (low, shaken): "It's his past."
Karamatsu (stunned): "He's reliving every cruel thing that's ever been said to him..."
The red tornado raged stronger, now so wide and powerful that the trees around the clearing groaned under the pressure. The heat seared their skin, forcing them to shield their eyes.
Choromatsu (panicked): "It's too strong! His power-it's going to kill him!"
Totoko (urgent): "If you don't stop him now, he's going to destroy himself!"
Osomatsu (determined): "We're not letting that happen! Not now, not ever!"
Without waiting, the brothers surged forward into the eye of the storm.
The heat hit them like a wall. The second they stepped inside, it felt like fire was clawing at their lungs. The psychic energy pushed back against them with unrelenting force. They could barely move. The ground cracked beneath them, glowing with veins of red and black energy.
And then, the voices returned-louder, clearer, sharper.
"You're nothing."
"A monster."
"Why don't you just die?"
Todomatsu staggered, frozen in place by the crushing emotional weight.
Todomatsu (shaking): "This is too much... these words... how could he survive this?"
Suddenly, a violent gust struck.
Todomatsu (gasping): "Ah-!"
He was flung backward like a ragdoll, hitting the scorched ground and tumbling away with a scream.
Jyushimatsu (startled): "Todomatsu!"
But the wind showed no mercy. A second pulse burst outward, knocking Jyushimatsu into the air. He crashed beside Todomatsu, stunned.
