The afternoon sun blazed over the quiet streets of the neighborhood, casting golden light over the rooftops. Jyushimatsu bounced excitedly in front of the Matsuno household, his wide grin stretching from ear to ear as he tugged Haruto out onto the porch with relentless energy.

Jyushimatsu (cheerfully): Haruto! It's my turn! You survived all the boring tests—now it's time for the best one of all... BASEBALL TIME!

Haruto adjusted his glasses, already sensing he might regret this.

Haruto (nervous): Uh... 'Baseball Time'? What exactly does that mean?

Jyushimatsu didn't answer. He simply turned to the living room window, where the other brothers had gathered, watching with curiosity.

Jyushimatsu (determined): This is just between me and Haruto! One-on-one! No distractions!

Osomatsu (smirking): Oh boy. Haruto, you better stretch. Jyushimatsu doesn't know the meaning of "rest."

Todomatsu (teasing): Try not to pass out, Haruto. We still need you for the next test.

Ichimatsu (flatly): Sounds awful.

Haruto (muttering): I've made a mistake.

At a small baseball field nestled behind a park, Jyushimatsu practically flew across the grass, twirling with joy as he tossed a wooden bat toward Haruto with exaggerated flair.

Jyushimatsu (beaming): Okay! You're going to swing this bat... 2,000 times! In one hour! It's perfect training for strength, stamina, precision, rhythm, and mental endurance!

Haruto caught the bat awkwardly, his expression frozen.

Haruto (horrified): Two thousand swings?! In one hour?!

Jyushimatsu (nodding confidently): Yup! That's how I warm up every day! You'll love it!

Haruto (deadpan): I seriously doubt that.

Jyushimatsu (pumped): SWING!

With a sigh of surrender, Haruto got into position and gave his first swing. Jyushimatsu clapped enthusiastically.

Jyushimatsu (cheering): That's the spirit! Only 1,999 to go!

By swing fifty, Haruto's arms were burning. By swing one hundred, his vision blurred from sweat and fatigue. And Jyushimatsu? He just kept hopping around, shouting encouragement at full volume like a coach who never needed sleep.

Jyushimatsu (shouting): You're doing great, Haruto! Keep it up! Swing! Swing! Swing!

Eventually, Haruto's hands trembled so badly that he could barely hold the bat. As his legs wobbled, he stumbled forward.

Right then, Totoko rounded the corner, her arms full of groceries, only to stop in her tracks.

Totoko (startled): What the...?!

She blinked at the scene, dropped her bags, and stormed onto the field.

Totoko (snapping): Haruto?! What on earth are you doing?!

Haruto paused mid-swing, panting.

Haruto (weakly): Just... surviving Jyushimatsu's test...

Totoko (unamused): Test? This looks like torture.

She turned sharply toward Jyushimatsu, who smiled brightly.

Totoko (fierce): What exactly are you making him do?

Jyushimatsu (enthusiastic): He's swinging the bat 2,000 times in one hour! It's my best training routine ever!

Totoko (aghast): Jyushimatsu, are you out of your mind?! He's not like you! You're going to kill him at this rate!

Haruto (weak smile): It's okay... I'm... managing...

Totoko (stern): Managing?! You're about to collapse! Jyushimatsu, he's not built like you!

Jyushimatsu finally paused, scratching the back of his head.

Jyushimatsu (confused): Oh... I thought it'd be good for him...

Totoko (sighing): Not everyone can survive your definition of "good."

Haruto staggered to the side, his knees buckling as he dropped the bat and leaned against the bench, every muscle in his body screaming. Sweat clung to his skin, and his vision spun.

Haruto (breathless): Can't... take much more...

And then—he blinked.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

The world froze.

No sound. No movement. Not even the birds fluttered in the sky. Everything held still in a perfect silence.

Haruto, barely able to breathe, let go.

A soft blue aura shimmered to life around his body—cool, healing, and alive. His arms relaxed. The pain in his shoulders eased. The tightness in his chest dissolved. It was his first use of the Blue Psychic Aura, and it enveloped him like a protective breeze.

Haruto (whispering): That's better...

As the glow faded, he felt the strength return to his legs. Then, his eyes drifted to Jyushimatsu, frozen mid-jump with a ridiculous grin on his face.

Haruto squinted.

Haruto (mischievous): You know what, Jyushimatsu-nii-san? You kind of deserve this.

He gently twisted Jyushimatsu's ankle to make the landing just awkward enough. Nothing harmful—just enough to rattle him.

Haruto (smirking): Let's see how you like it.

Three blinks.

Time resumed.

Jyushimatsu (yelping): AAAAHHHH! My ankle!! What happened?!

Haruto (feigning concern): Oh no! Did you land weird, Jyushimatsu-nii-san?

Jyushimatsu (groaning): It hurts! Is this... a sports injury?!

Totoko (deadpan): This is exactly why you shouldn't push people so far in the first place.

She handed Haruto a bottle of water as Jyushimatsu rolled dramatically on the grass.

Totoko (softly): You okay?

Haruto (smiling): Yeah. Much better, actually. Thanks, Totoko-san.

Jyushimatsu (smiling despite the pain): Haruto! You passed! That was awesome! You're a true baseball warrior now!

Haruto (laughing softly): I think I actually learned something today.

Jyushimatsu (curious): What? What did you learn?

Haruto (genuine): That you really, really love baseball. And that maybe I'm stronger than I thought.

Later that evening, as they arrived home, the rest of the brothers peeked through the window, watching them return.
