CHAPTER 29: THE SWEETEST DESSERT

HAVEN'S POV

"That will look good on your office desk."

Allessio and I arrived too early for dinner, so he asked me if I wanted to walk around and look at some stores in the meantime. We were strolling around the street with a really beautiful old-world charm when the store we're in right now caught my eye because they sell organizers in particular.

"My office really bothers you that much?" Allessio asked, fighting a smile.

I just rolled my eyes before I turned back to the desk organizer set that I saw. It was in the shade of darkest brown that it almost looked black.

I looked at Allessio when his cellphone rang. He glanced at the caller ID for a quick moment, then he fished his wallet out of his back pocket. He pulled out his card and handed it to me.

"Buy everything you want." He snatched the card back before it touched my palm. "Everything. You hear me, gattina? Not just things for me or the house."

I pursed my lips because that was exactly what I was planning to do. He had already bought so much for me.

He continued to look at me and I sighed. When I nodded in response to his question, that's the only time he handed it to me. He kissed me on the forehead before he walked away, already holding his phone to his ear with Fierro right behind him.

I glanced at Lorenzo, who automatically appeared at my side. When my eyes narrowed into slits, he just grinned and gestured for Adriano to follow who was already carrying a huge shopping bag that the store probably provided.

I feel like I have ladies-in-waiting following me, except that the ones I have are far scarier and more lethal. It even looks comical that they're here helping me shop when they look like they'd be better suited for a gun shop to buy arms and explosives.

I'm not sure how long we've been wandering around, but it wasn't long before Adriano had already made several trips to the cashier to drop off the items I had picked.

Just as I decided I was done shopping, Allessio returned. "Ready for dinner?"

"Yes, but I haven't paid yet."

"We got it, Mrs. Cascella—" Lorenzo cut off his own words when he realized what he called me while Adriano was holding back a smile beside him. They probably heard it from Fierro, and it stuck on them before they knew it. "We got it from here."

I scrunched up my nose at them, which made them grin wider, then I hooked my arm around Allessio and we walked out of the store together.

We went back from where we came from, and when we reached the area where the car dropped us, Allessio guided me in a different direction. We took a sharp left when we reached the corner, and my lips formed an "O" when I immediately caught sight of the name in bold letters on top of the arched doorway.
