The three figures stood in the garden. Tilly, Wanda, and the android. Bobby thought she recognised him, but couldn't place him. Through the glass, Bobby saw Tilly mouth the word, "Mom?".
Bobby yanked open the sliding door, which hit the frame with a bang before bouncing back into the middle.
"This is some sick joke, right?" She laughed, walking towards the two adults.
Tilly was silent as she watched Bobby storm towards them.
"Bobby, maybe we should let her-"
"Explain? Yeah, maybe we should." Bobby snapped, feeling the frustration rising. Her official stance was that this was a well-organised prank, but that wasn't what she really believed.
A mixture of emotions shook her mind: stress, fear, anger, etcetera. But also excitement. Ever since she was little, Bobby had been one of the Avengers' most - if not the single most - loyal supporters. And to be less than a meter away from 5 superheroes in the course of a day made her head reel.
But the ruling emotion was frustration. Frustration at her Mom, the city, her Dad - wherever he was - and even Tilly, for some reason. That, she felt guilty for.
"Where's Dad?" Tilly asked, voice shaking.
Wanda looked at her solemnly, before turning to the android. He had kind eyes, and a long, gold cape which faded into transparency at the floor.
"Tilly," He said.
Tilly gasped, recognising his soft English accent.
"Dad?" Tilly's voice was a whisper, almost drowned out by the distant rumbling of the rift.
He closed his eyes, and the twins watched in horror as his appearance morphed, like a hologram spreading across his body, resulting in the father they thought they knew.
"You're... Avengers?" Bobby's wide eyes glid between her parents, begging them for answers.
"We're retired." Wanda stated, as if that would make it all alright. "Well, we were retired." It was clear in her voice that she didn't want to be telling them this. She sounded hurt, maybe because this conversation was hurting Bobby and Tilly, too. "We're going to explain everything, I promise. No more secrets."
Bobby scoffed. "Do you really expect us to trust you?"
"No." Their dad said, quickly. "But we'd like you to give us a chance."
"Were you even going to tell us?" Bobby felt her volume rising with the bubbling anger in her chest. "Or was it the rift? Are you only telling us now because you have to go off and fight space monsters?!"
Their parents looked at each other, unable to confirm or deny.
"Could we please just go inside and talk about this?" Wanda said, her voice stern.
Bobby huffed, "fine."

Usually, Bobby didn't mind the quiet, but the silence that fell after their parents had explained to them their circumstances was the worst she had encountered. The family sat on their two leather couches, the twins on one, and the parents on the other.
"So... Your real name is Vision?" Tilly frowned, "And you're a..."
"Synthezoid." Said Bobby.
"I have as many feelings and am as human, in a way, as either of you." Vision was sincere in his tone, and his expression.
Bobby scoffed. "Right."
She noticed Tilly was clutching the soft fabric of her skirt - a habit she does when she is nervous, though only Bobby knew it.
"I don't understand," Her soft voice was barely a whisper, and it shook with uncertainty, "if Dad's... not human, then... how do we even exist?"
"Don't you get it?" Bobby snapped, causing Tilly to jump. "We aren't real. We aren't human, anyway"
Wanda spoke slowly, her voice full of sincerity. "You are real, and completely human."
"You should've told us sooner." Bobby stood up, looking down at her parents - who were both in their everyday clothes, exactly how Bobby and Tilly had always known them. It was impossible to believe that they were superheroes.
Wanda stood to face Bobby, and reached to put her hands on her daughter's shoulders, but Bobby pulled away. "It was only to protect you!" Wanda urged.
"Well, look where that got you." Bobby whispered, unable to make eye contact with her mother. "I was in danger today. And where were you? Up in a tower with billionaires who only appeared after a fucking fire monster destroyed a few buildings!"
No one spoke. Bobby looked into her Mom's green eyes.
"I know this is a lot to take in." Wanda whispered. "But-"
"I'll go to my room." Bobby huffed. She ran up the tall stairs, leaving Tilly and her parents alone.

Author's Note
I deeply apologise for this short - and not amazingly written - chapter. This is genuinely my least favourite part I've written and I have been dreading it. But, now it's done! So I'm looking forward to the future chapters ;)
Thanks! Ollie
