the door clicked shut behind her as y/n entered her apartment, her heart still racing from the evening. she couldn't help but smile as she walked to the living room, replaying the night in her head. the soft glow of the streetlights outside filtered through the windows, casting gentle shadows in the room, but y/n felt anything but calm. her thoughts were a whirlwind—of bakugo's kiss, the quiet moments they shared, and the undeniable pull she felt toward him.

her phone buzzed, pulling her from her thoughts. it was a message from mina:
"how was it? spill the details!"

y/n chuckled softly, sitting down on the couch. she typed quickly:
"it was amazing. i'm still trying to process everything, honestly."

as soon as she hit send, another message popped up—this one from bakugo. she hesitated for a moment before opening it. it was short and to the point, as expected from him:
"had a good time. let's hang again soon."

her chest warmed at the simplicity of his words, but there was something more behind them. she could feel it in her gut, the way he said it—almost like he was leaving space for something more to come. she quickly typed back:
"i'd like that."

she set the phone down and leaned back into the couch, the buzz of excitement still lingering in her chest. it felt good, the way things were slowly changing between them. but as much as she wanted to savor the moment, the reality of the night's plans quickly crept in.

a few minutes later, her phone buzzed again. it was a text from mina:
"hey! i'm dragging you to a frat party tonight. i need my wingwoman, and kirishima's bringing bakugo, so it's going to be fun. be ready by 9!"

y/n blinked at the message, a smile creeping onto her face. she quickly texted back:
"sounds good. i'll be ready."

she wasn't sure what to expect, but she knew one thing: she was looking forward to spending time with bakugo again. after the night they had, it seemed like the perfect way to let things flow.

at the party:

when the clock struck 9, y/n was ready and waiting by the door, her outfit simple yet flattering. a pair of black jeans, a fitted top, and her favorite boots. she couldn't help the little flutter in her chest as she checked herself in the mirror, hoping bakugo would think she looked good.

the doorbell rang, and y/n's heart skipped a beat. she opened the door to find bakugo standing there, his usual intense gaze softened by a small, genuine smile. he was wearing a fitted black jacket over a gray t-shirt, looking effortlessly cool, and somehow even more attractive in person.

"you look good," bakugo said, his voice low but sincere.

y/n couldn't help but smile, a warmth spreading through her chest. "you too. ready to go?"

"yeah," he said, stepping aside so she could walk out first.

the drive to the frat party was easy, quiet, and comfortable, the only sound between them being the hum of the car and the music playing softly in the background. it felt strangely intimate, just the two of them together, not needing to fill the silence with words. when they arrived at the party, the familiar chaos of a college gathering greeted them. music pumped from the speakers, people laughing and shouting as they mingled, while others danced in the open space.

"mina said they're already here," y/n said as they parked.

bakugo nodded, pulling the keys from the ignition. "let's find them."

they made their way into the house, and it didn't take long to spot kirishima and mina near the bar, chatting with a group of people. mina immediately waved them over, her eyes lighting up when she saw y/n and bakugo together.

"there you are!" mina grinned, linking her arm with y/n's. "i knew you two would make it. kirishima and i were getting tired of waiting!"

kirishima gave a playful salute. "glad you guys could join us! drinks are on the way. you two ready to party?"

"i'm just here to hang out," bakugo muttered, but there was a faint smile tugging at his lips. he didn't mind being around, especially if it meant spending time with y/n.

the group spent the next few minutes chatting, and the conversation flowed easily as they settled with drinks in hand. mina and kirishima were already deep in conversation with a few other partygoers, leaving bakugo and y/n alone for a moment.

y/n was about to take another sip of her drink when she felt someone standing close by. turning, she saw a guy grinning at her, his gaze lingering just a bit too long.

"well, well, what do we have here? pretty girl like you all alone at a party?" he said, his voice smooth, but his intentions clearly flirtatious.

y/n shifted uncomfortably, offering a polite smile but no more. "i'm here with friends."

the guy wasn't fazed by her lack of interest. "you should ditch them. i can show you a better time."

before y/n could muster a response, a strong arm suddenly wrapped around her waist. her heart raced as she looked up and saw bakugo standing there, his expression hard but with an edge of protectiveness in his eyes.

"she's taken, idiot," bakugo said flatly, his voice sharp, and the guy immediately stepped back, muttering under his breath as he walked away.

y/n's breath caught in her chest, but she smiled up at bakugo. "thanks," she said quietly, her heart fluttering at the unexpected gesture.

bakugo just nodded, keeping his arm around her as they rejoined mina and kirishima. "no problem," he muttered. "let's just enjoy the night."
