The theme for our September contest is ANCIENT MYSTERIES!
You get to choose the format. All forms and lengths of flash fiction and poetry will be accepted as long as the story is under 2,000 words. The first chapters of books are also accepted (as long as the chapter is 2,000 words or less). (I do not put an age restriction on these contests - please refrain from egregious sexual or violent content and let me know if there is an important content warning).
Submit your next work of flash fiction in any genre by:
- Publishing your completed story on Wattpad. Include the hashtag, #flashfictionfun so that other participants can find and read your work.
- Drop the link to your submission in the comments, below.
Contest Timeline:
- Submissions open September 01, 2025
- Submissions close Septeber 28, 2025
- Results announced week of September 29, 2025.
Prizes:
Winner/s have the option to be featured on the Underground Bookshelf website and social media platforms.
