X-MANSION
The X-Mansion stood majestically under the moonlit winter sky, its sprawling estate blanketed in pristine snow. The towering mansion glowed with a warm, golden light from its many windows. Christmas decorations adorned every corner; garlands of holly and twinkling lights draped the railings and windows, while a massive Christmas tree stood proud in the front yard, its branches heavy with ornaments and shimmering tinsel.
The sound of joyous laughter and festive music spilled out faintly into the still night. Inside, the mansion bustled with activity as students and X-Men alike celebrated the season.
Suddenly, a thud echoed through the frosty silence outside. A blur of red and blue landed with precision in the snow just beyond the mansion's doorstep. Peter Parker, the young Spider-Man, rose to his feet, shaking snow from his brown overcoat. A red Santa hat sat slightly askew atop his head, and a green muffler was wrapped snugly over his iconic Spidey suit. He adjusted the hat with a gloved hand and muttered to himself.
"Note to self," he said, brushing the last of the snow off his coat, "swinging through the suburbs is not as cool as it looks in movies. Too many trees, not enough rooftops."
He approached the grand doors of the X-Mansion, his boots crunching softly in the snow. A nervous chuckle escaped him as he raised his fist to knock.
Knock, knock, knock.
A moment passed, and Spider-man shuffled in place, his breath visible in the crisp night air. The massive oak door creaked open, revealing a familiar gruff face. Logan, better known as Wolverine, stood in the doorway, his rugged features partially obscured by a Santa hat perched awkwardly on his head. His usual leather jacket had been swapped for a dark green sweater emblazoned with the words 'Merry X-mas' and an outline of claws slashing through the 'X'.
Logan's sharp eyes scanned Spider-man up and down, a smirk curling his lips. "Well, look who decided to show up. Thought you got lost, webhead."
Spider-man grinned sheepishly, pulling his muffler down. "Lost? Nah. I just took the scenic route. You know, swinging through trees, dodging angry squirrels. The usual holiday adventure."
Logan snorted, stepping aside to let him in. "Get in here before you freeze your tights off."
Spider-man stepped inside, immediately enveloped by the warmth of the mansion. The grand foyer was stunning, with its high ceilings and intricate decorations. A colossal Christmas tree stood at the center, adorned with lights, ornaments, and a glowing star at its peak. Students darted back and forth, laughing and exchanging gifts.
Spider-man let out a low whistle. "Wow, you guys really went all out this year. This makes my string lights and half-burnt candles back home look like amateur hour."
Logan shut the door behind him, his smirk softening into a rare look of camaraderie. "Charles and Bobby insisted. They wanted everyone to feel at home. Speaking of which, they're expecting you. C'mon, kid."
As Logan led him toward the festive crowd, Spider-man couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth...not just from the holiday cheer, but from the realization that, even here, among mutants and heroes, he wasn't alone this Christmas.
Spider-man followed Logan into the grand hall, taking in the sight of mutants of all ages enjoying the festivities. The room was alive with cheer. Tables were laden with food, and a crackling fire illuminated the space, casting a warm glow over the gathering. Despite the merriment, Spider-man noticed that many of the mutants either avoided his gaze or looked at him with a faint air of disinterest.
