moon jieun - saturday

yelling was the first thing i heard when i opened my eyes. which is extremely strange because my house is always quiet. but right now? the yelling was practically echoing through the whole house. my brows furrowed as i sit up, trying to focus on the words being said.

"and to bring here here? your daughter lives here for crying out loud!" it was mom's voice. my lips parted in shock, i'd never heard her yell like that.

"you think she doesn't know what i do? she is not as naive as you are, chaena." dad retorts.

"sure, but she shouldn't have to witness it! it's not fair to her!"

"what's not fair to her is you acting like everything is okay!" a loud bang follows my dad's yelling, and suddenly, the house falls into silence. i feel my heart drop, and i climb out of my bed, moving to figure out what the hell just happened. but i stop as my hand lands on my doorknob, my mom's voice sounding through once more.

"i asked you for a divorce, you told me no." her voice shook slightly, but it was firm.

"because i don't want a divorce, chaena."

"then what the fuck do you want?!" i flinch as the cruel words leave my mom's mouth.

"i want for you to give a shit! stop acting like you don't know what's going on! scream at me! yell at me! do fucking anything other than what you've been doing!" i swallow at my dad's pleading words. is he serious right now?

"i'm not going to fight over something that won't last."

"and how would you know? you stopped trying ages ago!"

"because you slept with another woman!"

"because you weren't giving me what i needed!"

i'd heard enough. i quickly find changbin's jacket, throwing it on over my tank top, thankful that i went to sleep in sweatpants last night. i quickly threw on a pair of shoes and headed out of my room. i slammed my door, making it known that i had heard their argument, and i march straight for the front door, tears welling in my eyes.

"jieun, baby—" my mom's voice fills my ears, but i don't stick around to hear her out. i quickly shut the front door behind me, hands shoved in the pockets of changbin's jacket as i make my way down our driveway, my gaze glued to the floor until i run smack into someone. stumbling back, i rub my forehead, brows furrowed as i look up.

"jisung?" i question, my voice surprisingly weak. i blink away the tears that had welled in my eyes, and furrow my brows even more when i notice jisung had tears in his eyes as well.

"i— are you okay?" he asks, his hand rubbing over his chest where i had run into him. i shook my head, but didn't bother elaborating.

"are you?" i ask.

"i... i wanted to talk to you, but if now's not a good time i—"
