Aushi sat on the bench in the school courtyard, laughing at something Veer had just said. The two siblings looked so comfortable, their easy camaraderie evident to anyone watching. Across the courtyard, Aakash leaned against the railing, his jaw tightening as he watched the scene unfold.

“They’re always together,” Aakash muttered under his breath. “It’s like no one else exists.”

Priya, standing next to him with her arms crossed, raised an eyebrow. “Aakash, why are you soo angry? What’s the problem?”

“It’s nothing...” Aakash snapped, his voice sharper than intended. “It’s just… she doesn’t laugh like that with me. She doesn’t talk to me the way she talks to him.”

Priya sighed. “Yes, they are friends and they have a connection. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a connection with us as well..?"

Aakash didn’t respond. Instead, his mind raced with memories of the past few weeks—Aushi leaning on Veer for advice, Aushi choosing to sit with Veer at lunch instead of him, Aushi texting Veer late at night for help with a problem instead of coming to him.

For Aakash, it wasn’t just about Aushi and Veer being close. It was the nagging feeling of being left out, of not being enough.

Later that day, during free period, the group met in the library to work on their science project. Aushi and veer had seperated, because veer was in a higher class

“Aakash, can you pass me the ruler?” Aushi asked, glancing up at him.

Aakash, still fuming, slammed the ruler onto the table, making everyone flinch.

“Seriously, Aakash?” Aditya said, raising an eyebrow.

“What’s your problem?” Aushi asked, her tone confused.

“My problem?” Aakash snapped, finally letting the words tumble out. “My problem is that everything is about Veer lately! It’s like no one else matters to you.”

The room fell silent. Priya exchanged a nervous glance with Aditya, while Veer looked at Aakash, his expression unreadable.

“Aakash, what are you talking about?” Aushi asked, standing up.

“You know exactly what I’m talking about,” Aakash continued, his voice rising. “Every time I try to be there for you, you’re already with him. Every time I want to help, you go to him instead. It’s like I don’t even exist to you.”

Aushi stared at him, stunned. "Aakash. Of course, I go to him sometimes. But that doesn’t mean you don’t matter to me.”

“Really?” Aakash said bitterly. “Because it doesn’t feel like it.”

Priya, who had been silent until now, stood up and placed a hand on Aakash’s shoulder. “Listen, Aakash. I get it. You care about Aushi. But you’re letting your jealousy cloud your judgment." Then Aditya says "She’s not choosing between us. You’re making it a competition that doesn’t exist.”

Aakash pulled away, his face flushed. “Whatever,” he muttered before storming out of the library.

Aushi sank back into her chair, her heart heavy. “I don’t understand why he’s acting like this,” she said softly.

Priya sighed, patting her on the shoulder. “He just needs time to cool off. He’ll realize he’s overreacting or something."

"But I really do like him as a friend....I swear! We do have a connection......" Aushi says her heart sinking

Priya with a equally disappointed face said "he will realised his mistake. Trust me Aushi. Let's get back to work and check up on him later, okay?"

"Okay Priya" Aushi said sinking into her chair wondering how to make him feel better

"I'm going to go check on my bro. He only acts like this when he lost a match in F.C!" Saying that Aditya leaves leaving only priya and Aushi staring at eachother.

Priya finally finding they words to speak says "should we go check up on them..?"

"S-sure..." Says Aushi wanting to comfort aakash but is also curious on why he acted like that.
