Natasha was ready to kill Fury for interrupting her morning with Steve, but what Fury had to say when they met him in the kitchen dispelled her anger. "We found out who's controlling the machine in the ocean, it's Hydra." "Hydra!?", exclaimed Peter. "I thought you defeated them years ago." Steve sighed, "There's always going to be a remnant, but I thought we had it under control, apparently not." "We need to find their main base and since Steve, Natasha and Bucky have the most experience with them, you three will head this mission up", said Fury. Steve took the file that Fury handed him and flipped through it, skimming highlighted points and landing on a page of coordinates. The team began talking amongst themselves and Steve, Natasha and Bucky gathered over the files. Fury walked over and motioned for Natasha, "I need to talk with you Agent Romanoff." Natasha followed him as Steve watched Fury tell her something quietly and how Natasha immediately tensed. Fury handed her a thumb drive which Natasha pocketed and then she left the room. Steve walked over to Fury, "What are you not telling me?" Fury pursed his lips, "Red Room is involved and more specifically, Dreykevok." "Natasha killed him years ago", said Steve confused. "Not to the video surveillance feed we got and intel has proof that he is directly correlated to Hydra's new toy. Natasha has the drive, might want to give her some time though", and with that Fury left, aloof as always.

Steve went over some stuff with the team and then went to find Natasha. She was nowhere to be found in the house and he even checked on the roof. Finally, he spotted a figure sitting alone outside on the dock which was on the lake. He walked down and stopped behind Natasha, "Can I sit?" "Yeah." Steve sat and they sat in silence for a long time before Steve spoke, "Fury told me." "I thought he was dead, I thought I had killed that man long ago...I thought I had put my past behind me." "And you have Tasha, you are an amazing person and accomplished so much...we will kill him once and for all", Steve put an arm around her and Natasha leaned into his side. "I sometimes wish it could always be like this." "I think you would get bored." Natasha shrugged, "Probably, but I would be able to be with you all the time." "Now that sounds wonderful." Footsteps interrupted their moment and Wanda smiled shyly, "Nat, wondered if we were still going to get that coffee?" "Oh yes, we can go. I promised Wanda for some girl time Steve, I'll catch you later." Natasha kissed him quickly and then her and Wanda left to get their coffee.

"So this place, its an old Hydra base?", asked Peter as the team flew a few days later. "Yes, I visited here once or twice in my training, it's one of the smaller bases", said Bucky loading his rifle. Rhodey set the quin jet down and everyone began last minute preparations. "Stick to the plan, divide into your groups and we should be in and out with no problems", said Steve. "Is Dreykevok here?", asked Sam. "Not likely, he's not that stupid to be caught this easily", said Natasha. "This base will most likely hold nothing but information, however, be on guard", said Steve. Rhodey opened the door for them and they split off in the woods, each group taking different courses to the base. Rhodey was their emergency exit and Bruce stayed on call if the "other guy", was needed. Everyone made their way to the base and soon everyone was in their positions. "Everyone set?", asked Steve over the intercom. A series of, "yes" and "roger that Cap", came through and Steve looked to Natasha who nodded. "Charge on my count, 3...2...1...go!" Alarms throughout the base began going off as different doors and walls were blown up and the Avengers charged in. Hydra soldiers were few and far between as the different teams made their way through the lair. "No guards, basically abandoned", commented Scott over the intercom. "Stay focused and remember the objective, kill any Hyrda soldiers, capture the officers, rescue any prisons if any and find any information that could be helpful", said Steve as he made his way down the halls with Natasha and Clint. The eerie hall gave off a weird color with the alarm lights and sirens going off and Clint groaned, "I am getting a headache from this noise." Natasha rolled her eyes, but pressed her earpiece, "Lil sis, find a way to turn off the alarms, Barton's old ears can't take it." "Hey!", protested Clint. Yelena chuckled through the intercom, "On it, Bucky and I are almost to the electrical room." Steve halted them, "Found the control center." Clint notched an explosive arrow and Steve and Natasha took their places beside the door. Clint let the arrow fly and they rushed in as soon as the door exploded. To their surprise, it was empty of people, but there were things scattered around the room. "Spread out, find as much as we can", ordered Steve. They got to work as the rest of the Avengers combed through the base. "Tasha, come here", said Steve halfway through their searching. Natasha walked over and Steve held up a thumb drive, "It's in Russian." Natasha took it from him and paled at the sight before snapping it in half and hurling across the room where it shattered into even more pieces. Clint raised an eyebrow, "That could have been helpful you know." "It wasn't, I know exactly what it was." "What was it?", asked Steve. "None of your business", spat Natasha before walking out. "Remember, the Red Room is involved", said Clint after she had left. "Yeah...let's just get the rest of this sorted through." Clint patted Steve on the back, "I'll talk to her when we get back." "Thanks Clint", Steve smiled gratefully before turning back to the rest of the table.
