PARIS, 1004

AN INNOCENT ENOUGH looking five year old bounded down the stairs of the cozy home that her and her father lived in when she heard a knock on the door, her curly blonde hair bounced around her shoulders as she flung the door open, squealing in excitement. "Uncle Elijah!"

She was thrusted into a fit of giggles as he picked her up, lightly tossing her into the air before tightly trapping her in a hug. "How have you been, darling?" He pulled away to look at her, holding her in front of him. "You've been missed."

She was utterly adorable as she laughed, "Good! Is Aunt Rebekah coming?" She asked excitedly. It was Christmas-Eve and her family was to be back together at once for dinner tonight, and she couldn't be more excited.

"Yes, sweetheart, she should be arriving any moment." He said, placing her back on the ground, "Why don't you go see if your father needs any help with the preparations, I'll be along shortly."

She nodded, bouncing off into the kitchen. "Father!" She called softly, finding him standing near the table. "Uncle Elijah is here." She told him excitedly as he picked her up, a thoughtful look in his eyes.

He smiled at her fondly, she truly was his only weakness. "I believe I just heard someone else arrive too, little one, why don't you go have a peek?" He set her down.

Her eyes brightened, curiosity peaked as she poked her head into the foyer, seeing her Aunt and two Uncles conversing. All of them turning their attention to her once they heard the floorboards creak. "Is that my darling Juliette? My how you've grown!" Rebekah sped over to her, crouching down to her height.

"Auntie Bekah!" She giggled as the two girls threw themselves into a hug. "I've missed you!" She told the older woman excitedly, another figure squatting down next to her. "Uncle Kol!"

Having a child around often made the vampires feel more normal, Juliette brought out the humanity in all of them, and for that they would always owe her. "Come here, darling." Kol wrapped her in a tight hug, a smile inching its way onto his face.

"Brother." She heard Rebekah say fondly as her father entered the room, stealing her away from Kol and holding her tightly against him. "She's yours, Nik, we get it." She teased.

Whenever the family was around, Klaus was extra stingy with his daughter, she was his pride and joy and he wanted them all to remember that, she was his child and not theirs. The only one he never minded too much was Rebekah, since she was a maternal figure to Juliette.
