A FEW DAYS AGO

You sat at the long, oval table, your fingers nervously tapping against the cool surface. The League was gathered around you, everyone except Tomura.

Now, as you glanced at the others, there was an odd sense of belonging settling in your chest.

"I didn't want to tell you." Your words were steady, "I didn't want him to know."

Labcoat took a step forward. "Why not? You think he can't handle it?"

You shook your head, a bitter smile on your lips. "No. He'd destroy everything if he found out."

Labcoat opened her mouth to argue, then closed it again, her eyes darkening with understanding. Of course, she knew. She knew exactly how Tomura would react, matter of fact, everyone did.

"You can't keep this from him forever. He'll find out." She said.

"Not to mention you can't fight in this war alone." Dabi blinked.

"I'm not alone." You scoffed.

"The heroes will turn their backs once they find out you've been talking and fondling with one of our members."

"Our leader, just to be clear." Toga giggled.

You groaned.

"I know." You exhaled, a tremor running through you, "But not yet. Please, I'm asking you all to help me with this." You turned to Labcoat, "Your work is incredible. Any other drug on the market makes my symptoms worse or gives me even more nausea. I know you're Tomura's friend, but—"

"But you're also our friend."

Your jaw tightened, her fingers curling into her palms.

"I... I am?"

The league had welcomed you. They had accepted you. And somewhere, between the harsh words and the hard decisions, it had started to feel like... family.

"And what if he finds out on his own? You think you can stop him from tearing the world apart to get answers?" Dabi turned slowly, meeting your gaze. There was a moment of raw vulnerability between you both.

Your eyes softened. "I've seen him destroy people for less. For much, much less than this. I can't—I won't—put him in a position where he feels like he has to save me. It's not... it's not something he can fix, Dabi."

The league went silent for a long moment, Dabi's gaze flicking to the floor, then back to you. He knew very well, more than anyone else in the league, the kind of man you were talking about—the one whose obsession could burn cities, who could turn a family into ash with a single order. A man who loved her in a way that could be suffocating, destructive.

He knew, because that's exactly how he felt about Labcoat.

He stared at you, searching for cracks in your resolve, but there were none. You looked exhausted, fragile in ways you hadn't before, but your will was still unshakable.

"Fine. We'll help you. But you have to promise me something. When the time comes, you'll tell him yourself. No more running, Y/N. You can't keep him in the dark forever." Labcoat exhaled.

You looked away, your throat tight, but you nodded.

"I promise."

PRESENT TIME

The ground trembled as the many figures faced off, standing in the midst of the ruined city. Shattered glass and debris littered the street around them, the remnants of a battle that had already torn the area apart.

It was around 8:00PM, you had just left from home after coming from your chemotherapy, changing into your hero outfit and heading out. Afterall, you had no time to waste, today was the day you were getting Deku back.

Bakugo's eyes glinted with a determined fire, his hands crackling with raw, golden energy. Across from him stood Deku, his fists radiating a sharp, electric green, his expression fierce and unyielding.

And in the middle stood you and class 1A trying to find common ground.

"Why are you doing this, Deku?" Bakugo called, his voice a mixture of disbelief and anger. "Come back and stop being an idiot!"

Deku's lip curled. "Kachan, you don't understand. I need to do this to protect you all. I have to do this; you're all just afraid of change."

"You're wrong." You shot back, your body sparking with energy. "I'm not afraid of change. But you don't have to do this alone. We're all trying to take down All For One, but we can only do this together."

Deku shook his head. "There is no better way. Only one path forward." His hands crackled louder, and without another word, he launched himself at you.

The first blow hit like a thunderclap. His fist collided with your chest, but with your atomic wavelengths creating a small shield over you instead of the impact landing on you, it sent him hurtling backward, but he managed to plant his feet before crashing into a building.

"Lux, if you use your atomic quirk against him, you're both done for."

Aizawa's voice rang in your ears.

"I'm not; I'm only here for defense. Trust me, I just need to talk to the kid."

Your golden aura flared, and with a roar, you shot forward, delivering a punch of his own—a blinding burst of energy that slammed into Deku's side. Enough to knock him down but nothing too extreme.

"Defense my ass. Lux, remember you're in no state to be using your quirk that strongly."

You staggered but didn't fall. Instead, you twisted, using the momentum to launch yourself at him again. Your body moved like lightning, a blur of electric power. Deku barely managed to raise his arm to block your incoming strike.

"I need you to hear me out." You said, Bakugo following right behind you, "Yeah, jackass, quit the pathetic fighting and listen, will you?"

Dark shadows came in time, restraining him before he had any time to escape.

"Quit wasting my time on me!" Deku grunted. And using his hand to deliver a strike, Shoto came in time to trap him in an ice wall.

The fight didn't stop any sooner. With class 1A and you trying to get to Deku, you could feel your energy being tapped out. Good thing for your anti-nausea pills, after today's radiation treatment you weren't feeling too horrible.

But still, you were beginning to feel lightheaded coming.

Deku released another attack, a new one; it must've been from a past One For All holder.

"You're all holding me back," Deku sneered, his voice distorted by the storm of ice and explosion surrounding them. "You're no match for me."

You gritted your teeth, pushing yourself back to your feet as the wind howled around them. You clenched your fists, summoning your atomic energy, but your attacks—explosive pulses of kinetic force—felt like mere sparks against the wall of Deku's power.

"You're not enough," Deku uttered, raising his hand to unleash another crushing energy blast.

The ground trembled as he hurled it toward you. You barely managed to dodge, feeling the blast sear past her. You stumbled, the force of the near-miss pushing you to the ground.

Your vision blurred, and for a moment, you saw nothing but flashes of light. Bakugo's voice echoed as ice filled your field of vision. Your mind raced, desperation clawing at you.

You had to end this. Class 1A wasn't just any ordinary class, these kids had the potential to shape the world. To build a better future, perhaps one that you weren't able to build.

They were a group of kids, all with different quirks, learning about their adolescence while yet figuring out what this world is and what they stand for.

Something you and Tenko didn't have the privilege of having.

You were willing to do anything to protect them, to shield their fragile innocence from the harshness of the world. There was still a purity in their eyes—an openness that you wish you could preserve, to keep them from losing themselves in the confusion and disillusionment that so often defined adulthood.

But the ugliness, the cynicism, the scars of everything you two had endured and would eventually carry—that was something you wanted to delay for these kids as long as possible.

The path that led you here—one of learning, yes, but also of pain—was inevitable. But theirs need not be. You wanted to hold back the tidal wave of time and allow their hearts to stay light, their spirits unbroken, for as long as you could.

"Bakugo, I need you to propel yourself in the air and use your explosions when I say so. Got it?"

You then turned to Shoto, "And when he does so, I need you to create a barrier of ice strong enough to withstand both my atomic heat and Bakugo's explosives."

Shoto's eyes didn't leave yours, but he complied, shuffling quickly into position as the rest of class 1A stood guard.

You were on edge, the power in your veins flickering, struggling to sustain you.

If you were going to win this fight against All For One to have Tenko back, you needed Deku with you. Not on his own. And so you needed to win this.

"Now!" You yelled, and Bakugo advanced, his smirk widening as he raised his hand for a final blow. Your breath caught in your throat, and for a brief moment, everything around you was slowed. The air felt thick, like time itself was bending.

Something within you shifted.

A surge of energy, different from the usual kinetic blasts you summoned, coursed through you. It wasn't just raw force—it was something deeper, something primal. The world around you hummed, vibrating in a way you'd never felt before. You gasped, your hands shaking as the power rose from your core, pushing its way outward.

Bakugo flew into the sky, creating a tornado of explosives strong enough to disorient Deku.

"Shoto!"

In that moment, perfectly timed, Shoto built a dome of ice, with shards of ice carving themselves onto one another to provide support for Bakugo's explosives.

And finally, using your atomic power, a pulse of energy exerted from it, and with a mixture of atomic nuclear fission and fusion, you released an attack.

"Ochaco and Dark Shadow!"

Immediately Ochaco touched everyone; the sense of no gravity and the shield of Dark Shadow allowed all to withstand the atomic power of your quirk.

But the city was another story.

The whole area, which was unoccupied, became destroyed in seconds.

You had just created and released a mini atomic bomb.

Not big enough to go in the textbooks, but big enough to earn you a scolding from Endeavor.

"What—was that?" Kirishima muttered, eyes wide, as a pulse of energy exploded from your chest. The air around you warped, bending as the power swirled in an unpredictable, chaotic dance.

"LUX YOU CAN STOP"

The impact gave everyone whiplash, including Deku.

"I want a family."

Tenko's voice echoed in your head, and you gasped, clenching your fists as you exerted the power within you to a halt. Every vein in your body felt like it was on fire and your organs about to explode.

As you stopped, so did your quirk.

Terrified and confused for a moment, you looked over at class 1A. "Is everyone ... okay?" You swallowed.

The streets were quiet. Even the faint sound of the ambulance in the back seemed muted, as if the very atmosphere had been altered by the weight of your power.

You turned over and noticed Deku. He was absolutely defeated, surrounded by class 1A, he had nowhere to run.

"Fucking finally." Bakugo whispered, his voice almost inaudible.

Deku raised his glare, an apologetic one as it seemed, "I'm so sorry." He murmured, "I didn't mean any of this. Please forgive me."

Newscasters were making their way as well as medics.

"Stop trying to win this on your own." Bakugo uttered, grabbing Deku by the chest and pulling him close, "You're not alone, you fucking nerd."

Ochaco approached him too, grabbing him and assuring him that everything was okay. And finally giving in to exhaustion, Deku apologized before passing out onto Bakugo's arms.

"Oh shit," You ran over to him to begin healing any internal damage he might've had. But just as you reached him, your hand hovering over his body to begin the healing process, you felt your head spin.

"Lux, your nose is bleeding." Shoto pointed out.

"Huh?"

Placing your hand over your nose, you felt the wet, sticky blood linger on your hands.

Shit.

"Bakugo, get Aizawa..." Were the last words you said before passing out onto Ochaco's arms.
