Vahni POV:

As the evening falls, the guests depart, and the house grows quieter. Vihaan and Vishaal are engrossed in a game in Vishaal's room, while Vyara is fast asleep in hers. I'm sitting on the swing in the garden, savoring the cool breeze. Tomorrow's the big day, and the elders are busy with last-minute preparations.

I'm lost in thought when I sense a presence behind me. I look up to see Vanya standing there, a gentle smile on her face.

"Hey, sit here," I say, moving to make space for her on the swing.

"I hope I'm not bothering you," she says, settling in beside me.

"Of course not, you're family now," I reply, smiling.

Vanya turns to me, her expression serious. "Can I talk to you about something, Vahni?" she asks.

I nod, intrigued. "Of course."

Vanya takes a deep breath before speaking. "Earlier, you told me that you had a crush on my brother forever, and it's complicated. I just want to know...if you don't mind me asking."

I nod understandingly, and Vanya continues. "I want to know what happened between you two."

I take a deep breath, recalling the memories. "It's just that...we were childhood friends, and I've loved him all my life. We were in class 12 when I finally confessed, but he rejected me."

Vanya's eyes widen in surprise. "That punk! He'll get a beating from me for rejecting the sweetest girl I've ever met!"

I laugh, feeling a sense of relief that Vanya is on my side.

Vanya's expression turns serious again. "But that's not the whole story, is it? You said it's complicated."

I nod, hesitant to reveal more. "He got himself a girlfriend later."

Vanya's eyes flash with anger. "What...the audacity!"

I decide not to tell Vanya about the kiss Vihaan regretted or the complicated emotions that followed. It feels like a private matter, and I'm not ready to share it with anyone yet.

Vanya looks at me with concern. "How can you love him after all this?"

I smile, feeling a sense of vulnerability. "I don't know...it just happened. I loved him even after he broke my heart, and I think I never stopped."

Vanya's expression softens, and she smiles. "You really love him a lot, don't you?"

I nod, feeling a sense of conviction. "I do, with all my heart. And now that he's apologized for all the wrongs...I think I can forget, forgive, and start a new chapter with him."

Vanya's expression turns fierce, and she says, "If he hurts you ever again, come to me. We'll sort things out."

I laugh at her protectiveness, but Vanya continues, her voice filled with conviction. "I will always take your side. He may be my brother, but you're too my sister."

I feel a warmth in my heart at Vanya's words. It means a lot to me that she's willing to stand up for me, even against her own brother.

"Thanks, Vanya," I say, smiling at her. "That means a lot to me."

Vanya smiles back and hugs me tightly. "We're sisters now, Vahni. We stick together, no matter what."

Just then, we hear the sound of footsteps approaching. Vanya and I turn to see Vihaan and Vishaal walking towards us, big smiles on their faces.

Vishaal's eyes light up as he sees Vanya and me sitting on the swing. "Here you two are! We were searching for you guys in the whole house," he exclaims, walking over to us.

Vanya rolls her eyes good-naturedly. "We were just having a little chat," she says, smiling at Vishaal.

Vishaal grins and leans over to kiss Vanya on the cheek. "I'm glad I found you," he says, winking at her.

Vihaan clears his throat, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I think we can join the party now," he says, sitting down beside me on the swing.

Vanya's gaze shifts to Vihaan, and she glares at him. "We will have a chat later, mister," she says, her voice low and ominous.

Vihaan looks confused, raising an eyebrow. "What have I done now?" he asks, looking at Vanya with a mixture of amusement and concern.

Vanya just shakes her head, a small smile playing on her lips. "Later," she repeats, before turning back to Vishaal and continuing their conversation.

Vihaan looks at me, shrugging, and I just wink at him, a sly smile spreading across my face.

Just then, Vyara walks out into the garden, stretching her arms over her head. "What's going on here?" she asks, eyeing the group of us.

Vanya grins. "Just having a chat. Care to join us?"

Vyara nods and plops down beside Vishaal, who puts his arm around her. "So, what's the gossip?" Vyara asks, looking at Vanya and me.

Vanya fills Vyara in on the gossip we we're doing earlier, leaving out the part about her glare at Vihaan. Vyara listens intently, nodding her head and making supportive noises.

As we chat, the sun begins to set, casting a warm orange glow over the garden. We laugh and joke, enjoying each other's company on the eve of Vanya's big day.

Eventually, Vanya stands up, brushing off her clothes. "I think it's time for me to get some rest. Big day tomorrow!" she says, grinning at us.

We all nod in agreement, saying our goodbyes as Vanya heads off to bed.
