The warm glow of the bathroom light seeped into the dimly lit bedroom as Lisa emerged from her shower, hair damp and a towel draped loosely over her shoulders. She was humming softly, her face flushed from the heat of the water. Her brow furrowed when she glanced around the room.
"Chae?" she called, her voice calm but questioning. "I still can't find my phone. Are you sure you haven't seen it?"
Chaeyoung was perched on the edge of the bed, her back to Lisa. She turned her head slightly, offering a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "I told you, babe, I haven't seen it. Maybe it's in the car?"
Lisa sighed and ran a hand through her wet hair. "Maybe," she muttered, though her tone betrayed a hint of doubt.
Chaeyoung didn't respond immediately. Instead, she rose from the bed, her movements deliberate and slow, as if she had all the time in the world. When she finally turned to face Lisa, the taller woman froze.
The woman standing before her was not the Chaeyoung she was used to seeing in cozy cardigans and casual jeans. This Chaeyoung wore a black satin slip dress that clung to her every curve, its fabric shimmering faintly in the soft bedroom light. The hem barely brushed the tops of her thighs, and Lisa's gaze couldn't help but follow the teasing glimpse of her white smooth skin peeking from beneath. Her heart skipped a beat, caught between admiration and confusion.
"Chae," Lisa said softly, her voice laced with surprise. "You look... amazing. What's all this for?"
Chaeyoung took a step closer, her bare feet silent against the hardwood floor. Her lips curled into a slow smile, and she tilted her head, feigning innocence. "What? Can't I dress up for my wife every now and then?"
Lisa blinked, momentarily at a loss for words. She opened her mouth to respond but closed it just as quickly, her mind struggling to reconcile the woman standing before her with the Chaeyoung she thought she knew so well.
"I—I mean, of course," Lisa stammered, her cheeks reddening. "You look beautiful. I just wasn't expecting—"
"Shh," Chaeyoung murmured, closing the distance between them. Her fingers brushed against Lisa's arm, trailing down to her wrist with an intimacy that felt both familiar and foreign.
Lisa's breath hitched as Chaeyoung leaned in, her lips hovering near Lisa's ear. "You've been working so hard lately," she whispered, her voice sultry and low. "Let me take care of you tonight."
Lisa's pulse quickened, a mix of desire and unease coursing through her. "Chae, are you okay? You're acting—"
"Different?" Chaeyoung finished for her, pulling back just enough to look into Lisa's eyes. Her smile deepened, though there was something unreadable behind it. "Maybe I am. Maybe I'm tired of being predictable."
Before Lisa could respond, Chaeyoung reached for the bottle of whiskey on the bedside table. She poured a generous amount into a glass, the amber liquid catching the light, then handed it to Lisa.
"Here," Chaeyoung said, her tone playful yet commanding. "Relax a little."
Lisa took the glass hesitantly, eyeing it with a hint of skepticism. "Whiskey? Since when do we drink something this strong?"
"Since tonight," Chaeyoung replied, her eyes glinting with something Lisa couldn't quite place.
When Lisa didn't immediately take a sip, Chaeyoung's patience wavered. She grabbed the glass, brought it to her own lips, and took a long, deliberate drink. Then, without warning, she leaned in and kissed Lisa, her lips pressing firmly against hers as the whiskey burned its way from one mouth to the other.
