Present--Vahni POV:
It's been a week since we came back from Shimla and everyone is so busy with the wedding preparations. Today, Vyara, Vanya, and I are going for dress shopping for Mehndi, Sangeet, and the Bachelor party. Mum and Aunty Miyori have decided to take us to the Haldi and Shaadi and reception shopping later. Vihaan will drop Vanya at my house, and together we will pick up Vyara and leave. Speaking of which, I hear a horn and I go outside as Vanya steps out of the car.
"Hey, you look lovely!" I exclaim, as Vanya smiles and adjusts her sunglasses.
"Thanks, I was hoping to find some inspiration for our dress shopping trip today," she replies, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Just then, Vihaan calls out from the driver's seat, "Hey, don't forget to pick up Vyara on time! And don't let Vanya bully you into buying something you don't like."
Vanya playfully rolls her eyes and mouths "ignore him" to me. I chuckle and wave goodbye to Vihaan as he drives off.
"Shall we go get Vyara?" I ask Vanya, and we head to the car.
As we drive to Vyara's house, Vanya starts discussing her wedding plans, from the decorations to the music. I listen attentively, asking questions and offering suggestions.
When we arrive at Vyara's house, she answers the door, looking stylish in a yellow sundress. "Hey, girls! I'm so ready for some retail therapy. Let's go find some stunning outfits!"
As we drive through the bustling streets, I expertly navigate the traffic while Vanya and Vyara chat excitedly about the wedding preparations.
"I'm so glad we're doing this together," Vyara says, smiling at Vanya. "It's going to be so much fun!"
"Absolutely!" Vanya replies, grinning back at Vyara. "We're going to find the most stunning outfits and make this wedding unforgettable."
I glance at them through the rearview mirror, smiling at their enthusiasm. "I'm just glad I get to be a part of it," I say, focusing back on the road.
We continue chatting and laughing as we arrive at our destination – a popular shopping district filled with trendy boutiques and traditional ethnic wear stores.
"Okay, girls, let's get started!" Vanya exclaims, as I park the car and turn off the engine. "We have a lot of shopping to do!"
As we walk through the crowded streets, the sound of lively chatter and music fills the air. We're surrounded by rows of colorful shops, each one overflowing with an array of stunning outfits, sparkling jewelry, and intricate accessories.
"First things first, we need to find the perfect outfits for the bride-to-be," I say, smiling at Vanya.
Vanya's face lights up with excitement. "I know exactly what I'm looking for. Let's go find some stunning outfits!"
We spend the next hour browsing through shops, trying on outfits, and offering our opinions. For the Sangeet, Vanya tries on a beautiful peach-colored lehenga with intricate gold embroidery.
"This is perfect!" Vanya exclaims, twirling in front of the mirror. "I feel like a princess!"
Next, we find a stunning silver and white gown for the Mehndi ceremony. The gown is adorned with delicate floral patterns and sparkling silver sequins.
"Wow, Vanya, you look absolutely breathtaking!" Vyara exclaims, as we all ooh and ahh over the gown.
Finally, for the Bachelor's party, Vanya tries on a sleek and sexy black jumpsuit with a daring cut-out design.
"Vanya, you're going to knock Vishaal's socks off in this!" I tease, as Vyara and I giggle and cheer.
With Vanya's outfits settled, we move on to find dresses for Vyara and me. We try on countless outfits, laughing and joking as we go.
For the Sangeet, Vyara and I decide to twin in stunning lehengas – hers in a beautiful shade of turquoise, and mine in a gorgeous emerald green.
Next, we find the perfect short party dresses for the Bachelor's party – Vyara's in a sizzling hot pink, and mine in a sleek black.
Finally, we find churidar sets for the Mehndi ceremony – Vyara's in a lovely lavender, and mine's red .
As we finish our shopping spree, we're all beaming with excitement. We can't wait to show off our stunning outfits at the wedding.
"That was the best shopping day ever!" Vyara exclaims, hugging us tightly.
"Definitely one for the books," Vanya agrees, smiling at us.
I nod in agreement, feeling happy and content. "We're going to rock these outfits and make this wedding unforgettable!"
As we finish our shopping spree, we decide to grab a bite to eat at McDonald's. We walk in, greeted by the familiar aroma of burgers and fries.
"Let's go order," Vanya says, leading the way to the counter.
We take our time ordering, chatting and laughing as we go. Once we have our food, we find a cozy table by the window and dig in.
As we eat, the conversation turns to gossip about the upcoming wedding. Vanya starts dishing about her fiancé's friends, and Vyara and I are in stitches.
Just as we're getting into the juicy stuff, Vanya suddenly turns to me with a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Hey, Vahni, do you have a crush on my brother?" she asks, her voice low and conspiratorial.
I choke on my water, my face turning bright red. Vyara bursts out laughing, holding her sides in amusement.
"Vanya, what are you talking about?" I try to play it cool, but my voice comes out shaky.
Vanya just grins, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I've seen the way you look at him, Vahni. Don't think I haven't noticed."
I feel my face growing hotter by the second. Vyara's laughter is getting louder, and I just want to melt into my seat.
"Vanya, stop teasing her!" Vyara says, still chuckling. "Vahni, don't be embarrassed. We're just joking around."
But Vanya just winks at me. "I'm not joking, Vahni. I've seen the way you two look at each other. There's definitely something there."
I feel my face growing hot, as I try to play it cool. "No, ofc not," I say, trying to sound casual despite the butterflies in my stomach.
Vyara bursts out laughing, holding her sides in amusement. "Oh, Vahni, you're such a bad liar!"
I shoot Vyara a warning glance, but she just winks at me.
Vyara leans in, a sly grin still plastered on her face. "It's a long story, one that started exactly... umm... 13 years ago?"
Vanya raises an eyebrow, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "What's going on, guys?"
Vyara leans in, a sly grin still plastered on her face. "Let's just say that Vahni here has had a crush on your brother for, oh, about forever?"
Vanya's eyes widen in surprise, and she turns to me with a questioning look. "Vahni, is that true?"
I feel my face growing hotter by the second, and I try to downplay the situation. "It's not that simple, Vanya. Let's just say that Vihaan and I have a... complicated history."
Vanya raises an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Complicated history? What do you mean?"
I take a deep breath, trying to decide how much to reveal. But before I can say anything, Vyara jumps in again.
"Vanya, trust me, it's a long story. Vahni will tell you all about it later, won't you, Vahni?"
I nod, grateful for the reprieve. "Yeah, Vanya, I'll tell you all about it later. Let's just focus on your wedding planning for now, okay?"
Vanya nods, but I can tell she's still curious. "Okay, deal. But Vahni, you're not getting off that easy. I want to hear all about this complicated history of yours."
