Present--Vahni POV:
We wake up early, feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. "Today's the day we visit the Jakhoo Temple!" Vishal exclaims. Vyara stretches and yawns. "I'm so excited! I've heard it's beautiful."
We quickly get dressed and head down to the hotel lobby. After a quick breakfast, we set off towards the temple. As we walk, the cool mountain air fills our lungs, and we chat excitedly about what the day holds.
We arrive at the temple and are struck by its beauty. We spend a few hours exploring the temple, taking in the stunning views and admiring the intricate carvings. As we walk around the temple, Vishal starts cracking jokes, making us all laugh.
"Hey, Vahni, want to make a wish?" Vihaan asks, nodding towards a nearby wishing tree.
I look at him warily, but nod. "Sure."
We walk over to the tree, and Vihaan takes my hand, helping me tie a wish thread around the branch. His touch sends shivers down my spine, but I quickly push the feeling aside, reminding myself of our complicated past.
"I wish for many more adventures like this with you, Vahni," Vihaan says, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
I look at him, my expression stern. "But I don't," I reply, my voice firm. "We're here because of our family, Vihaan. Don't act like everything is okay between us, because it's not. Have you forgotten everything that happened five years ago? Because I surely didn't."
Vishal interrupts us, calling out, "Hey, guys! Come check out this amazing view!"
We nod at each other and join the others.
After working up an appetite, we decide to head out for lunch. "Let's try that new café we saw yesterday," Vanya suggests.
We agree and head to the café. Over lunch, we chat and laugh, enjoying each other's company.
As the afternoon wears on, we decide to head back to the hotel to rest and freshen up.
Later that evening, we head to a local restaurant for dinner. As we finish dinner and head to a club, the excitement is palpable.
Inside the club, the music pulses, and the lights flash. Vihaan pulls me close, his body swaying to the beat. For a moment, I let myself get lost in the music, but then I snap back to reality, remembering that I shouldn't be giving in to these feelings.
I push him away slightly, creating some distance between us.
As the night wears on, we dance and laugh together, the drinks flowing. But I'm careful to maintain my emotional distance from Vihaan.
It's 3:30 AM when we finally stumble out of the club. Back at the hotel, Vishal carefully carries Vyara to her room. Vihaan carries Vanya, who's passed out, to their shared room.
As they reach the room, Vishal turns to Vihaan and says, "Thanks for the help, man."
Vihaan smiles and nods.
Vishal then turns to me and asks, "How did you manage to stay sober tonight?" He chuckles, and I smile, feeling a bit self-conscious.
"I'm just more responsible, I guess," I reply.
Vishal laughs and says, "Well, good night, guys. I'm going to crash."
As Vishal heads into his room, Vihaan and I are left alone in the corridor. Vihaan's eyes lock onto mine, and he takes a step closer.
Suddenly, he reaches out and gently presses me against the wall, his body inches from mine.
My heart is racing as Vihaan's lips brush against my neck, sending shivers down my spine.
"I don't regret anything I did tonight, and I'm making sure you know this," Vihaan whispers, his lips still touching my skin.
I push him away, my heart still racing. "Good night, Vihaan," I say firmly.
Vihaan smiles and nods, his eyes still locked on mine.
And with that, I turn and disappear into my room, leaving Vihaan standing alone in the corridor.
