"Si mami" Javier hugs his mom as she yaps about him needing to eat
"No no necesitas comer" she complains and jaiver hums (need to eat)
"I will mami prometo" he speaks again and his mother pouts (prometo = promise)
"Aiy come give me a hug hijo" Javier smiles leaning down to hug his mother who rubbed his back squeezing him tightly
"Make sure you call me when you land okay" he says and she smiles
"Prometo hijo" kissing his cheek she leaves his house he wanted to walk her out yet she warned him about the folks in her car knowing he would get upset if he saw them
Javier and his family werent the best when it came to him, he was treated differently because of quietness
Theyd assume he was just gay and call him out his name or assume he was beat on and try to abuse him themselves
Yet he wouldnt stand for any of that and they hated how strong he could hold his own without there help
His mother always has his back though, never let anything she saw slide as she knew her son was just quiet by choice
"So what is hijo" Javier hears behind him, he turns and sees Harlem eating his bowl of ice cream
"Son lem" Javier shakes his head at his nosey best friend
"My bad... hijo" he smirks at Javier who stares at him before they both burst out laughing
"Nah but real shit ian know you was dat fluent in Spanish neva heard you speak Spanish before dat was sexy" harlem stuffs a spoon-full of ice cream in his mouth as Javier blushes slightly
"My mom spoke to me in Spanish growing up and taught me my English" Javier says softly sitting in front of Harlem who leaned on the counter
"Reallyyy, dat lil lady sum feisty too" Harlem says scarily making Javier laugh again
"Yea mami really my hero" Javier smiles making Harlem smile a bit as well
"Well javi we gotta go meet with my cousin in 10 minutes he said he missed you and I took you from him" Harlem frowns
"I miss ken too he cool peoples you know" Javier smiles and Harlem frown deepens
