Klaus Mikaelson was a lively young man, born in the year 980, he lived in a village ruled by the full moon. Among the crazy patrons of his town, he met Adelia Dubois, a girl that had moved to the area from France. They instantly hit it off, and were set to be wed in 999, though when the girl was found pregnant, they had to rush to be married the year before.
On their honeymoon in Paris, Adelia gave birth, consequently passing away from complications, leaving her broken hearted husband to head back home with only his newborn child, Juliette Mikaelson.
Rebekah, his sister, was the one that mostly took care of her, having the maternal instinct that each of her brothers lacked. She adored Juliette as if she was her own, and vowed to be the mother she would never have.
In 1001, when Esther Mikaelson turned all of her children into vampires, a curse was placed over Juliette, a prophecy claiming that when she turned eighteen, she too would become a vampire.
After the Mikaelson's massacred their entire village, Klaus no longer found the place fit for him to raise a baby, so he fled, taking Juliette back to France. For the next eighteen years, he would raise her there, through many hard times, he always kept her safe.
After a few decades, the young girl went off to see the world, exploring and occasionally crossing paths with her family members, adjusting to her eternity as a vampire.
In 1864, she met two brothers that became completely enamored with her, though she had no ill wishes towards them and didn't want to pit them against each other. She was always taught by her father the importance of family, which is why she never wanted to play with the two boy's emotions.
Eventually, she and Damon fell deeply in love, and when he died, she helped him through his transition. Now, over 145 years later, they remained utterly infatuated with each other, returning to Mystic Falls for one last great adventure.
