Vahni's POV:

As I walk upstairs with Veer, I tease him, "You never told me you had a brother!!! I love children, gosh! By the way, your mom is lovely too!" Veer chuckles and playfully responds, "So, you love me, right?" He imitates a child, making me laugh. I playfully slap his back, saying, "No, only real children!" Veer dramatically holds his heart, saying, "You wound me, princess!" We both burst out laughing.

As we settle down to work on our project, time flies by, and before I know it, two hours have passed. I quickly wrap up the work, realizing it's getting very late. Veer speaks up, "Oh, forgot to inform you, my brother has a nursery recital tomorrow, so I won't be able to go to school." He quickly adds, "But I'll drop you off and pick you up." I protest, "You don't have to, Veer. I can manage for one day. You just take rest." Veer nods in agreement.

As I prepare to leave, Veer's mom invites me to stay for dinner, but I kindly decline, saying, "Another day, auntie. My parents will be waiting for me today." Veer grabs his keys and jacket, and I wish Vyan good luck for his recital. We head out, and the ride from his house to mine is short. After wishing Veer a good night, I enter my house.

As I enter the house, my parents look up from the living room, where they're watching TV. My mom asks, "Hey, beta, how was your day? You're home late."

I take a deep breath, trying to summarize the day's events. "Mom, Dad, I had a project to work on with Veer, and we lost track of time. That's why I'm late."

My dad nods understandingly. "Okay, that's fine. How's the project coming along?"

I smile, feeling relieved that it's done. "It's finished, Dad. We worked hard, but it's done."

My mom gets up from the couch, concern etched on her face. "Okay, dear, you must be tired. Come, let's get you something to eat."

But I'm already feeling exhausted, and the thought of eating dinner feels like too much effort. "Mom, I'm really sorry, but I'm too tired for dinner. Can I just go to bed?"

My mom nods sympathetically. "Okay, beta. Go get some rest. We'll talk more in the morning."

I quickly head upstairs, change into comfortable clothes, and collapse onto my bed, feeling grateful for a warm and cozy bed to snuggle into. I drift off to sleep, feeling tired but content.

I wake up early in the morning because I have to take the bus today. I quickly get ready and leave the house. By the time I reach school, it's already 8, but I'm still early, not in a hurry I  just stroll around.

I walk through the corridors, enjoying the quiet morning atmosphere, when suddenly I'm pushed to the ground. I fall hard and look back to see Ahana, Navya, and Shreya, the school's infamous cheerleaders and bullies, standing over me.

Ahana steps forward, her voice screeching like an engine. "How dare you kiss my man?" she demands.

I stand up, brushing myself off. "Your man? Who are you talking about?"

Ahana sneers. "Veer, of course! Who are you to steal him away from me?"

I frown, confused. "I'm not stealing anyone. Veer is my best friend."

Ahana's expression twists in disgust. "Best friend? Don't lie! You're just a whore trying to seduce him!"

A crowd begins to form around us, drawn in by the commotion. Ahana's voice rises, carrying across the corridor. "You think you're so special, don't you? But I know the truth. You got dumped by Vihaan, and now you're trying to seduce Veer!"

I feel my face burning with anger and humiliation. "Shut up, Ahana!"

But Ahana just smirks. "Oh, I'm just getting started. Navya, tell her what Vihaan's girlfriend said about her."

Navya steps forward, a malicious grin spreading across her face. "Yeah, she said you're just a pathetic replacement for her. Vihaan told her all about how you threw yourself at him, but he rejected you."

I feel tears pricking at the corners of my eyes as the crowd begins to murmur and snicker. Shreya chimes in, her voice dripping with malice. "Yeah, and now you're trying to do the same thing with Veer. You're just a slut who can't get anyone to love her!"

That's when I lose my temper. "Leave me alone!" I shout, turning to run.

But Shreya grabs my hand, her grip tight and painful. "Oh, it's true, isn't it?" she sneers, her face inches from mine. "You're just a pathetic little girl who can't get anyone to love her!"

I feel my heart break into a million pieces as I jerk my hand free tears streaming down my face, and I start to run towards the school gate.

As I flee from the school, I hear whispers behind me. Some students laugh and point, while others give me pitying looks. But I don't stop to confront them or defend myself. I just keep running, my feet carrying me away from the humiliation and heartache. I don't dare look back, fearing what I might see. Tears blur my vision completely now.
