"So I love you, because the entire universe conspired to help me find you"

5 years ago--Vahni POV:
It's been three long days, but finally, the moment I've been waiting for has arrived - I'm getting discharged today!
The dull ache from the operation is still lingering, but I'm feeling significantly better now. The doctor had suggested keeping me in the hospital for two more days, but I was so bored and restless that I begged him to let me go home.
I promised to take good care of myself and follow his instructions to the letter, including complete bed rest for as long as he wants. After some persuasion, he finally agreed to let me leave the hospital. I'm thrilled to be going home and can't wait to get back to my normal routine.
As I sit on the bed, eager to leave the hospital behind, my mother walks in with a warm smile on her face and a bag of clothes in her hand.
"Time to get you dressed and out of here!" she exclaims, helping me change into comfortable clothes. My father, meanwhile, takes care of the discharge formalities, chatting with the doctor and signing papers.
Finally, after an eternal wait, everything is taken care of. My father gives me a thumbs-up, and my mother helps me gather my belongings. We make our way out of the hospital room, down the corridors, and finally, out into the bright sunlight. As we pull away from the hospital's driveway, I feel a sense of joy wash over me. I'm finally going home!
The thought of sleeping in my own bed, surrounded by familiar comforts, is almost too exciting to bear.
After a short 15-minute drive, we finally arrive home. My mom helps me out of the car, and I'm grateful for the support, even though I don't really need it. It's just nice to have her by my side. She walks me to my room, and I feel a sense of relief wash over me as I see my cozy bed and familiar surroundings.
"Hey, kiddo, how are you feeling?" my dad asks, sitting down beside me on the bed.
"I'm good, Dad. Just a little tired," I reply, trying to reassure him.
"Don't worry, you'll be back to normal in no time," my mom chimes in, smiling. "Now, how about some breakfast?"
I nod, and my mom heads out to bring me some food. After finishing my meal, both my parents head out for work, leaving me to rest and recover.
As I settle back into bed, I pick up my phone and see a text from Vihaan. Did he just double text me? I feel a flutter in my chest as I open the message. "Get well soon, get the treatment from good doctors of good hospitals," he writes.
I smile, feeling happy that he's thinking of me. I try to respond, but my brain goes blank. I don't know what to say. I just stare at the screen, feeling a little silly.
I finally manage to type out a response, trying to play it cool. "Thanks, Vihaan. I'm feeling better now." I hit send, feeling a little nervous. I don't know why, but I feel like I'm walking on air.
I'm engrossed in my phone, scrolling through social media, when I suddenly hear the creak of my bedroom door opening. My heart skips a beat as I instinctively prepare to yell and throw my phone at the intruder. But, to my surprise, I see my sister Vyara walking into the room with a big smile on her face.
"How did you get in?" I ask, still trying to process the sudden interruption.
"I used the spare key," she replies nonchalantly, jumping onto the bed and snuggling under the covers with me.
"Don't you have school?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"I took a day off because you're coming home today" she says, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
I nod understandingly. Vyara and my elder brother are my maternal aunt's kids, we have been living in the same neighborhood since birth. Vyara and I are of the same age, while our brother Vishaal is 7 years older than us.
Aunty Miyori hadn't let Vyara visit me in the hospital because, as Vyara puts it, "hospitals make me cry." I can understand that. Hospitals can be overwhelming, especially for a sensitive person like Vyara.
After catching up on each other's lives, we decide to watch a movie together. Vyara picks our all-time favorite rom-com, "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani". We snuggle under the blankets, munching on popcorn and singing along to the iconic songs.
After a wonderful movie session, Vyara and I decide to head downstairs to grab some lunch. We sit down at the dining table, chatting and laughing as we enjoy our meal together. It's moments like these that I cherish, just spending quality time with my sister.
As we finish our lunch, Vyara glances at her watch and realizes she needs to head out. "I'll see you later, okay?" she says, giving me a hug. "Take care of yourself and don't forget to take your meds."
I nod, smiling, as I watch her leave. I lock the door behind her, feeling a sense of comfort and security. I head back upstairs, remembering that it's time for my medication. I take my pills and settle back into bed.
As I snuggle under the blankets, I start to feel my eyelids getting heavy. The medication begins to take effect, and I drift off to sleep, feeling peaceful and content.
