Vahni POV:

I wake up to the sound of the doctor's voice, gentle and reassuring. "Good morning, Vahni. How are you feeling today?" he asks, smiling at me.

I try to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washes over me, forcing me to lie back down. The doctor nods. "That's okay, just take your time. You're still recovering from the surgery."

He checks my vitals, asking me questions about my pain level and how I'm feeling. I answer as best I can, still feeling a bit groggy from the medication.

Just as the doctor is finishing up, my mom walks in with a tray of breakfast. "Good morning, beta!" she says, smiling at me. "I brought you some breakfast. Plain toast and scrambled eggs, just what the doctor ordered."

I smile weakly, feeling a surge of gratitude towards my mom. She keeps the food on my bedside table along with my phone and charger..

Then my mom gives me a kiss on the forehead and says "I'll let you rest now, beta. I'll come back and visit you later, okay?"

I nod, feeling a bit sleepy again. My mom leaves, and a few minutes later, the nurse comes in to help me get freshened up. She helps me change into a new set of clothes, and then assists me in washing my face and doing my morning routine.

As I look in the mirror, I'm shocked by my reflection. I look pale and weak, with dark circles under my eyes. But despite how I look, I feel a sense of relief wash over me. I'm on the road to recovery, and that's all that matters.

As she leaves, I take a deep breath and start eating the breakfast she brought me. I take small, slow bites, savoring the taste of the plain toast and scrambled eggs. The food is comforting and familiar.

As I eat, I glance over at my phone, which is lying on the bedside table. I reach over and pick it up, scrolling through the messages. My heart lifts as I see that Anisha and Shruti have both texted me, wishing me a speedy recovery and promising to visit me in the evening.

I smile as I read their messages, feeling happy that my friends are thinking of me. I see that they've both said they'll come to visit me after school, and that they'll bring me the notes from the class. I feel a pang of relief, knowing that I won't fall behind in my studies.

I put my phone back on the bedside table, feeling a sense of comfort and reassurance. Knowing that my friends are there for me, and that they're thinking of me, makes me feel a little better. I take another bite of my breakfast, feeling grateful for the small joys in life.

After some time, I get bored of eating and decide to pass the time by scrolling through social media. As I mindlessly scroll through my feeds, I come across Vihaan's updates from his vacation. I feel a pang of sadness, wondering why he hasn't contacted me yet.

Despite feeling a little down, I decide to take the initiative and text him myself. I drop in a quick "Hey, how are you doing? Haven't talked in days, so texted ya casually." I try to sound nonchalant, not wanting to seem too eager or clingy.

I know that Vihaan is probably in school right now, so I don't bother waiting for a reply. Instead, I put my phone on music mode and start listening to my favorite songs. I also start browsing through memes on Instagram, watching funny videos on YouTube, and playing a few rounds of my favorite mobile game.

As I get engrossed in my phone, I start to feel a little more relaxed and distracted from my thoughts about Vihaan. I settle back into bed, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity with my phone by my side.

As noon approaches, and the nurse comes to help me get ready for a shower. She assists me in getting out of bed and walking to the washroom, where she helps me take a refreshing shower. The warm water feels wonderful on my skin, and I start to feel a little more human again.

After the shower, I put on a fresh set of clothes, and the nurse helps me get back into bed. Just as I'm getting comfortable, my father walks in with a warm smile on his face, carrying a tray of lunch. "Hey, beta! How are you feeling today?" he asks, setting the tray down in front of me.

I take a deep breath, feeling a little more energized after the shower. "I'm feeling a bit better, Papa," I reply, trying to sound as cheerful as possible. My father smiles, looking relieved, and we chat for a bit while I eat my lunch. He tells me about his day, and I listen intently, feeling grateful for the distraction.

As I finish my lunch, my father gives me a gentle pat on the back. "Your mom and I will come visit you again tonight, okay? We'll bring you dinner and keep you company." I nod, feeling a sense of comfort knowing that my parents will be back to visit me soon.

After my father leaves, I take my medications as prescribed by the doctor. The nurse comes to check on me, making sure I've taken everything correctly. As soon as the medication kicks in, I start to feel sleepy. The dose is strong, and I can feel my eyelids getting heavier by the second. I eventually succumb to the sleepiness, feeling my body relax and my mind drift off into a peaceful slumber.
