Rayaan closed his laptop and placed it on the table, heading out of his office to wake his elder brother, who was still asleep at 8 in the morning.
He pushed the door open, stepping inside the room, where he spotted his brother curled up inside the silky blanket. Settling himself on the bed, Rayaan ran his hand over Aaliyan's hair, "Ali, it's time to wake up."
Aaliyan turned his face to the pillow, trying to cut the distractions in the room, especially the sun rays that were striking his face with warmth yet he found it annoying as it was the source that was causing him to squint his eyes.
"Ali," Rayaan repeated, gently dragging the hand from his hair to his neck and rubbing it.
"Ray, let me sleep. 'm tired," Aaliyan complained, though he didn't mind the neck massage that he was receiving.
"You've slept for more than enough hours, Aaliyan. Come on, get out of bed and freshen up while I prepare breakfast." Rayaan instructed, pulling his hand back to pat Aaliyan's back firmly.
Aaliyan closed his eyes at the name of breakfast. He didn't feel hungry. He often didn't, especially after the accident the changes were so sudden, even he wasn't aware when he lost his appetite. "I'm sleeping."
"No one is going back to sleep. Stand up and make your way to the bathroom." Rayaan commanded, pushing himself off the bed and standing beside it.
Aaliyan gulped, he never liked to be reprimanded, but then whoever liked to be told off? Yet he was sensitive at heart and Rayaan, who was aware of this, usually tried to hold his stern self back, however, he had a stubborn brother and that said it all.
"R-Ray," Aaliyan murmured, pulling the blanket over his head subtly.
Rayaan exhaled softly and leaned down, yanking the blanket from his brother's body, who blinked his eyes, before standing up. "Ray!!"
Rayaan gathered the blanket in his hand with the intention of putting it away but Aaliyan stood up, reaching his hand to grab it back, failing to look around his surroundings. His feet tangled with the pillow and he slipped, a small yelp falling from his lips, but Rayaan caught him and situated him back on the bed.
"Are you okay?" He asked, scanning over Aaliyan thoroughly.
Aaliyan nodded his head as he rubbed at his chest, his heart was drumming against his ribcage. "'m fine, don't worr-"
"Don't you dare finish that sentence off. Don't worry? I've told you repeatedly to look around before walking or getting out of bed. You could've hit your head on the drawer. I would've understood if it was the first time but-Ali?"
Aaliyan fidgeted with his fingers as he felt the pressure build-up behind his eyes and he sniffed. He poked his finger in his eye, trying to hide the tears but nothing escaped his brother. "I-I'm sorry,"
Rayaan sighed and took a seat on the bed, pulling Aaliyan into his arms, "It's okay. I shouldn't have scolded you as much, I was just worried. I didn't want you to injure yourself like the last time."
Aaliyan bobbed his head, he understood where his brother was coming from. He hated injuries too, it always meant a trip with the doctor, something that he totally despised with passion.
Aaliyan leaned his head on Rayaan's arm, taking the youngers hand into his small ones and playing with the ring on his finger.
Rayaan leaned down and pressed a kiss on Aaliyan's head, "Freshen up and come downstairs. I'll be waiting."
Aaliyan hummed yet made no move to get up. The longer he took, the more time he had to avoid eating breakfast. "Ray,"
Rayaan stood up and crossed his arms against his chest, "Yes,"
