"That's just it, he's gone. Disappeared without a trace,"
"I can't believe it, first [REDACTED] and now [REDACTED]. The Davis family is falling to pieces. God what do I tell the kids?"
"That I'm afraid is something we cannot help with ma'am."
"Uh, shit,"

I had a dream last night. A strange sort of dream, it was just a void. Nothing else but darkness. No life. Nothing. Could it mean something? Nah, I'm definitely overthinking it. It was just a stupid dream after all. Just a dream.

Holy shit, our worlds gone to hell and we're stranded. Stuck in this damn shed with nothing! Anyways I should start from this morning.
I arrived at Knapford sheds at around 9 to find George steaming up Molly. Had a chat with him for around 20 minutes while we got Molly ready. Apparently his sisters getting married next month. (Fat chance of that given the situation we're now in). He has mixed feelings on it, mostly due to how the grooms a "Pompous dick" so that's nice, I guess...
A while later we pulled into Knapford with our passenger train. We weren't necessarily happy to be taking passengers, Molly especially as she much prefers goods work even though her class was designed to pull big express trains. Molly started chatting with Gordon, the two seem to be on decent enough terms considering all the crap that went down a few weeks ago but that's old news by now. After a bit James pulled in with a train of empty cattle trucks and as expected was complaining dreadfully about it. Gordon then attempted to make a snarky comment about an engine and some tar wagons. However this ultimately failed when James said that at least he didn't get scared by a damn cow! After that Gordon made sure to keep his trap shut.

The guard then blew his whistle and we set of. We had only just left the bustling town of Knapford and were approaching Lower Knapford when we heard it...
A loud bang echoed from the distance and within an instance the sky darkened and we were hit with an immediate sense of discomfort. I was then hit with the most unimaginable pain. It felt like I was being drained of my very life as I struggled to breath. I leapt for the regulator and sent Molly into full speed. Sirens started to blare warning us of danger and as we barreled through Lower Knapford we could hear the screams and gagging of those on the platform. Many people had collapsed onto the ground and others were furiously banging on doors begging to be let inside the safety of the station. We now knew we had to find cover.

By this time I had manged to regain my breath and managed to actually get back to controlling my damn engine as George shoveled coal furiously into Molly's firebox. Her wheels pounded the rails as we charged down the line. We didn't know where we were going but our end goal was a shed. He flew over the junction to the loop-line which sent us of towards Wellsworth. At this point I was still struggling to breath, so was George but we had to push on in order to survive. As we entered Crosby we saw Henry and Stanley pulling a line of trucks each, both were heading in the opposite direction. Henry was yelling something to Stanley which I couldn't recognize but then suddenly without warning he veered of into the yard and slammed into a line of trucks. Splinters and debris flew everywhere as a plank of wood flew through the cab nearly taking my head of! As we shot past Stanley who was screaming at us to help him we rocketed pass Henry! He and his crew yelled at us to go back however there was no turning back now.

We Thundered over the viaduct and through Henry's forest. Molly was now beginning to shake as well. Even though she herself was built for fast running she could barely handle these conditions. None of us could. We Shot through The forest and into Wellsworth. I leapt up and yanked down hard on the whistle chain as Molly's shrill whistle pierced the distasteful air. The signalman was in his box luckily and he sent us of into the yard and thank god he did as if he didn't we most likely wouldn't have made it. I slammed the brakes on hard and the noise was deafening. Way to make an entrance I guess. My eyes darted furiously round to look for a shunter's pole. We had found cover but had to still get inside it. I then noticed a workman sprinting towards us. He was coughing furiously but was still going. He grasped the shunter's pole and uncoupled Molly from the coaches. We briskly made our way to the sheds, as I looked back I noticed the workman collapse to the ground, the poor soul. We moved into the shed and no sooner had Molly stopped moving George leapt down. I quickly realized what he was getting at and lunged for the opposite door. Within and instance the shed door was slammed shut and finally. We were safe.
I immediately collapsed with relief onto the floor, we had survived but barely. After looking round we found no one in the shed, which in a sense was good. Mainly because it meant that we could lose our shit in private. Molly was having an episode as she was unable to save Stanley whose most likely dead. George just said he needed some time alone and with that he walked to the other side of the shed. I didn't really know what to think if I'm honest, I was pretty shaken up considering what we had just been through but another part of me was also worried for my friends and my family. I was just about to suggest swinging the shed doors open and going to look for survivors ,which in hindsight was stupid, when George called me over. I followed where his voice had come from to see that the tosser had broken into a mail van. Dire situations require dire actions I guess. We was fiddling round with a radio. Asumidly trying to get it to work. Until we heard a bit of static and finally a voice:
"This is the Sudrian Government seek shelter seek shelter immediately and do not enter the open air. Less than an hour ago an unknown incident caused several tankers at the construction area of the new site on the Brendam branchline to combust. These tankers are highly volatile and contain Nitrogen Dioxide which is highly toxic. Seek shelter and close any doors and windows. Under no circumstances should you open them until sirens are heard informing you of safety. It is unknown if this gas is a need to evacuate but evacuation trains will leave from Ffarquhar, Knapford and Tidmouth Halt rail stations soon after the gas clears. If you wish to evacuate, make your way there as soon as the sirens sound. For those of you who chose to stay bunk down and get comfortable and may God be with you all."
Christ are we fucked.
