The smell of fresh coffee beans brewing was enough to stir me up from my beauty sleep. I blinked a few times, my pupils adjusting to the sudden bright light of the sun attacking my poor eye.

I was tucked in a blanket that I didn't remember putting on, throwing it to the side I sat up groggily. Yawning, I stretched my arms which weren't as sore as they usually would be, considering I fell asleep on a couch.

Suddenly, a coffee mug appeared infront of me from behind. "Coffee?"

I took it from him and placed it on the coffee table for it to cool down a bit. He sipped his black coffee and sat on the couch beside me, his expression weirdly smug. "When I asked you to sleep in a room, I didn't mean the living room, idiot."

He was holding off his laughter for some reason whenever he glanced at my face. "Give me a damn break." I rolled my eyes grumpily, I would like to not be annoyed the first thing in the morning, please.

He snort laughed as he looked at my face, I glared at him to make him shut up. "What's so funny?"

"Its just-" He cackled, pointing at my face. "Its just my masterpiece looks even better in the morning!" He died of laughing again, spilling some of his piping hot coffee into his hands and wincing in pain with mild burn.

Wait. W-What masterpiece? Oh shit. I quickly scouted for my phone and opened the front camera, and oh boy. My worst fear in slumber parties came into reality, which was getting my face drawn on like a damn piece of paper.

"HENRY!" I yelled, staring at my own face which now had a very blue mustache and random doodles everywhere. My eyes darted to his who was now laughing but was also in pain from the coffee burn. "How dare you, HOW DARE YOU TOUCH MY FACE AND RUIN IT?"

He leaned back calmly, still holding out his burnt finger. "Ruined it? Oh please." He grinned widely from ear to ear. "I have simply elevated it with my art skills. Your welcome." I narrowed my eyes and glared at him with full intent that if there was a paper in his place, it would have holed from my gaze.

"Hey, just cause you don't have skills," He imitated me from last night. "Don't be so bitter about it." He continued to laugh.

"Atleast you got karma for this." I sighed, gently taking his hand in mine and inspecting the burn. He was weirdly shaky for some reason, like panicking. "If it hurts this much, then run it in some cold water, Henry." I said seriously.

He slipped his hand away with an awkward smile and nodded like a maniac as if I was a serial killer or something. Such a weirdo. "I am going to wash this off." I informed, heading to the bathroom to get rid of this monstrosity off my face.

"W-Wait!" He tailed behind with his phone out, looking at me pleadingly. Oh hell naw. "Pretty please?" His eyes shone.

"Pretty no. Get lost." I shooed him away. He showered me with atleast a thousand pleases and I couldn't bear to hear that word one more time. My ear was bleeding, hence I said yes to escape the torture. "You better not show it to anyone." I sighed.

"Yeah yeah," He shrugged, excited as he rushed to open the camera in his phone.

"I swear Henry," I tried to make it sound threatening cause he was clearly not listening. "The day this goes public, is the day I kill you." Cause this one picture would be more than enough for him to blackmail me for this entire lifetime.

He threw his arm over my shoulder and took a selfie with me looking like a grumpy clown and him smiling like there was no tomorrow. "Yes," He mumbled. "Now I have something to threaten you with for bragging rights!" He smirked.

"I hate you." I smiled softly to myself.

"No you don't." He said with his usual confidence. Brushing it off, I head over to the bathroom and scrubbed that thing off my poor face. What a lively start of a day.

I should probably end things with Aaron today. He's just not the guy for me.

Freshening up, I changed into some of my fresh set of clothes and threw my hair up in a ponytail. I walked out into the living room to find Henry on his work mode, talking with someone on the phone with dead seriousness.

"What do you mean I need evidence, sir?" He seemed desperate. "Isn't my statement enough to prove that it's him?"

Without paying much attention to him, I quietly sat down on the couch to not disturb him. Reclining back onto the fluffiness, I cozily took the book I vowed to finish yesterday to finish it now.

"I'll find the evidence then." He said to the caller. "I'll prove that he's the murderer."

I turned around to him as soon as he hung up the call, curious and a bit uneasy. "You found the murderer?" I asked to the now stressed looking Henry.

"Ye- I meant, no. N-Not yet." He blabbered with a forced smile.

He wasn't telling me everything, but, it's his work. I shouldn't poke my nose in his business like this. So, I let it slide. "Well, I'm going to have a talk with Aaron today. Thanks for having me, Henry." I smiled, even if thinking of Aaron made me feel bitter. Oh how much I loved that guy before that happened.

"N-No, uhh..." He was now acting weird. He was definitely avoiding something. "I heard there's a new movie released, wanna watch it together?"

"Sure, but, let me first finish things off with him." I referred to Aaron. I never want to even see him again.

"B-But the movie is starting in thirty minutes!" He said quickly. "You can break up with him afterwards, alright?" He sounded casual and pleading at the same time.

I mean, I suppose I don't mind some more time to prepare mentally for the break up. Thinking about him still made my eyes well up with tears. To think I loved such a guy.

"Okay then." I shrugged, sucking in the tears. I would like a movie. I would like to forget him for awhile. But, doesn't Henry have a important murder case to work on? "Today isn't a holiday though. Are you bunking work?"

"Not really." He answered in a mumble with a sigh. "Keeping people alive is also in my job description."

What the hell is that even supposed to mean-

"Be quick, the cinema theater is twenty minutes away." He hurried to the door and put on his shoes. I followed behind, forgetting the coffee and slipped into my heels. Watching a movie in the morning wasn't very ideal, but, whatever.
