The consent problem

Why is it always the guy making the first move? Why is it that the girl has to sit there, timidly blushing, waiting for the guy to do everything? We've seen a hundred books where he's confident, smooth, and knows exactly what to do, while she's shy, unsure, and inexperienced.

Why can't the girl lean in first for the kiss? Why can't both of them be nervous wrecks, hearts pounding, wondering if they're doing it right?

And let's talk about the guy always being the expert. Every time, it's like he's this serial kisser, especially trained by lord Emraan Hashmi.

I mean, why should boys have all the fun.

Why is it so hard to find a kissing scene where the FL is doing better than the ML.

Or by any chance she is, it has to be in an age-gap trope where she's some rich, badass Malkin of the company and the guy is a shy, innocent, "Pooja paath" type employee in her company? Why we can't just have a regular, same-age/same status relationship where the girl happens to be the one who know it better?

Why can't she be more skilled or confident without her being older and richer.

Does she not have YouTube in her phone? I mean, we all have searched kissing tutorials once in our lives (Not me, obv)

Also can we talk about how the Ml decides now is the perfect time to shove his girl agaisnt a wall and do things to her in middle of a party?

Not to forget, she isn't even "his girl" yet.

Let the consent slide for a second but what if someone walks in to see their karyakram.

Nevermind.

It's like the ML has a ticket to touch, kiss and do indescribable things to the fl, anytime and anywhere. Especially in the hallway and on the bathroom platform. Do you know people wash their hands over there after taking a dump?

I do get the point where eyes do the talking and tension lingering in the air but not every lip lick, smoldering gaze and parted lip means consent.

I hope they aren't as delusional in real life as their characters are.

And, Don't even get me started at the Ml punishing the FL because he can't admit being jealous and insecure. The Ml sees the FL laughing at some other guy's joke and the next second he is dragging her to the bedroom to "teach her a lesson".

Bro, who are you? Supreme court?

Instead of reflecting on why he ks insecure, he take it out on the fl like it's her fault for existing on the same planet as another man.
