Chapter 6: I've Got You

Start from the beginning

And to say that we didn't... I don't want to be that person. But I've probably got to be. But not now. Later of course. "Hey?" Leigh was speaking once more. "Sorry, yeah?" Embarrassment flooded my cheeks lightly. "You still here love? Honestly, if it's that bad, I think we need to get your mind off of something this...strenuous." She had a tiny glint in her eye, as if she were truly a little minx-which she actually could be, a sneaky little thing. "And how would that work, little minx?" I chuckled gently as she played with my shirt collar, not in the mood really, but with Leigh. Well, that could change if she really wanted.

"Mm, I can think of a few ways." Her tone was a bit lower now, which practically ran my heart into the ground, I was putty in her hands. I leaned in a bit closer, loving the feeling she was causing inside of me. "Well, as you may know, trial and error is a start." I answered finally, after Leigh slowly started to kiss my neck. "Trial and error indeed love, shall we?" She gave me that deviously alluring grin; of course I was in total agreement, who wouldn't be?
If only the bloody phone hadn't gone off again, maybe we would have had a nice morning.

Jade's POV
45...46....50. Thank the lord and lady.

My body felt as if it were on fire, maybe I shouldn't try to do fifty push-ups on a whim.

But here I was, and it was a pretty good way to pass the early morning, working out. I warmed up with stretching and a small session on the treadmill. It was maybe 8:00 in the morning, about an hour since I woke up, I didn't sleep very well but at least we could record in the booth from home today, Annecka was pleased with our vocals and my breakthrough. I settled with knee and elbow touches first. Afterwards I went with sit-ups, I could feel my body burning, but then my gut churned as well, sharply.
"Oh-" I paused immediately and sat up, feeling a wave of gas come up me chest and felt a squeak mixed with a belch make its way out of my mouth, frowning. My belly had felt reasonably normal until now.
I knew why of course. Perrie and I's fight a couple of nights ago had me in a rather anxious mindset, so since I couldn't sleep I decided to stay up and think through some more song ideas and maybe a couple of beers too after she avoided me the whole day yesterday, not that I blamed her at all. I just didn't want to be alone with my thoughts, at least my song thoughts were more interesting than my personal issues. I stopped once I realized I was starting to feel a little fuzzy and noticed the time and decided to deal with meself then, but I guess the beer was still making its way through my system.

Letting out a sigh I waited, hearing small gurgles in my gut before I decided to finish off with shoulder presses. I slowly reached up and grabbed a couple of twenties before sitting back down and carefully reclining back. I could work off the beer, no problem. I was surprised that I didn't hurl after running but pushed the thoughts out of my head and focused on my reps, listening to my comfort playlist while doing so.
Just when I sat up, I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I flexed my hand carefully, hearing Perrie go into the kitchen to get breakfast. I deflated a bit, ready to have a full day of not a word being spoken to me once more.

Yesterday had been a tough day, I decided to let Perrie process what I had told her the day before. Leigh and Jesy had checked on her during the day and we interacted as little as possible in the studio but outside of that, I let her keep to herself and busied myself with working out whenever I didn't have ideas to write in my lyric journal or wasn't on calls with Simon and Annecka who were starting to request us to think about some bar performances and a charity ball. I didn't know what to expect today, so I was prepared for the worst, for the silence to continue on.

Upon hearing her stop, I turned and saw her sticking her head in the doorway to catch my gaze. Since I wasn't sure where we stood right now, I watched her take in the scene in front of her with unreadable eyes as she moved just inside the doorframe. I held my breath, waiting for another shoe to drop, yet all I saw was a sleepy blonde wrapped in a big sweater-one she probably didn't know was mine.
