When Ludwig was a young boy- around the age of five or six, he was stuck in a terrible car accident that killed his biological father ( Germania- if that's right. Sorry if it isn't.) and left his memories completely erased. His name at the time was not Ludwig but Bruno- but after the accidents his eldest brother , Roderich took custody of him and Gilbert and Roderich knew his biological mother liked the name Ludwig and he wanted to give Ludwig a fresh start and never actually told him about the accident. The person who caused the terrible car crash happened to be Francis, a family friend
