Don't Forget - Demi Lovato
Chapter 21—Left Out
Where the heck did Samantha Dawson went? It was lunch time and I couldn't find her. It has been fifteen minutes since lunch break and she was still nowhere to be found. Okay, I didn't look everywhere. I just stayed here in our table and waited for her.
I had been texting her for a good ten minutes now. To my luck, there was no reply from her. I was about to say she might be practicing with her cheerleader friends but then they were here in the cafeteria. Where was Sam? I didn't know.
I sighed, holding my tray on my hand. I then spotted Sarah and Jun at their table. Drake was not around. I then smiled to myself and walked to their table.
"May I take this seat?" I asked them as I stood in front of them. Sarah and Jun immediately looked up at me.
"Of course!" was Sarah's answer while Jun answered a "sure."
"Where's Drake?" I asked as I sat down in front of them. I grabbed my spoon and started eating my lunch.
"We thought you're with them," Jun told me, making me furrow my eyebrows. "Your friend? The cheerleader?"
"Oh, Sam?" I asked, tilting my head to one side.
"Yep, Sam it is," Sarah answered me, popping the 'p' sound of the yep. "Drake said something about tutoring so we thought you would be with them."
"Oh, no," I answered, shaking my head. "Tutoring for what?"
"Calculus," Jun answered shortly before taking a dim sum into his mouth using his chopsticks. He raised it a bit, as if signalling for us to excuse him as he gulped his lunch. "You guys have a quiz in calculus later, right?"
"Wait, what?" I asked, blinking my blue eyes at them. Drake, Sam and I had Calculus together. The reason why I didn't get invited for the said 'tutoring', I do not know.
"I guess that was the reason why Sam asked Drake to teach her Calculus," Sarah answered before taking a spoonful of her food.
"Why aren't you with them?" Jun asked. Thankfully, he asked the question that has been running through my mind. Why?
Of course, I had to cover up. I didn't want them to know that I wasn't informed about it considering the fact that Sam was my best friend. So, I shrugged it off, winking at them. "Nah, let them have some alone time."
"Have you studied for your exam later?" Sarah asked, tilting her head to one side. Her brown eyes were looking straight at mine, filled with concern and curiosity.
"Uh, actually," I grinned at them awkwardly. Jun tried his best not to chuckle as he shook his head. Sarah then sighed. "I have totally forgotten that we'll be having an exam."
"Do you need help?" Jun asked, smiling a little. His eyes were slanted enough that it looked he couldn't see me anymore. Nonetheless, he looked like he genuinely wanted to help me.
"I have understood our last lesson but a help from the two of you would be really great," I told them honestly before sipping at my drink. "Let's just eat first before reviewing, shall we?"
"I was about to suggest that," Sarah chuckled at me. "Let's eat fast."
**
"It's not hard to teach you," Sarah told me as she closed her notebook. We only had five minutes before our lunch break was over. "Honestly, I don't think you actually needed our help."
"She really didn't." Jun told Sarah. Sarah just looked and nodded at him. They really look cute together.
"Drake and I had gone over this topic last time," I told them as I put my pen back in my bag. "Luckily, I understood the basics."
