teammates ; Lando Norris

I did not think this would be the greeting I'd get from Lando Norris. Eyes blazing as he barged through Zak browns office without so much as a knock.

He looks calm and collected though as he glances between us all.

"Lando, what have I told you about knocking?" Zak laughs patting him on the shoulder.

"Yeah, yeah." They do a quick bro hug. "I just couldn't wait to meet my new team mate." Lando says and I feel like that's definitely not true with the tone of his words.

Zak's expression falters slightly and he whispers something quickly into Lando's ear before he turns to me. 

The first thing I notice is the lack of expression on his face.

His eyes looking void of almost all emotion- borderline dead.

I feel a shiver run down my spine at his cold eyes before shaking my head to snap me out of it.

"Hi, I'm Juliette." I reach my hand out to shake his hand and he doesn't respond for a moment.

"Lando." He nods back- not shaking my hand so I awkwardly drop it.

That was weird. Maybe he's a germaphobe.

"Lando would you be ever so kind as to take a picture of the three of us?" Zak asks patting him on the back again to snap him out of his stare he had on me.

He raises his eyebrows. "Sure." He slips his own phone out from his pocket and waits for us to get into position.

I stand in between Zak and Andrea, as we line up in front of a white wall that has a couple McLaren car pictures on it.

"Perfect, now a couple of the two drivers." Andrea insists and I see Lando roll his eyes briefly- luckily I don't think either of the two men noticed.

Zak goes to fetch his own phone from his desk but Lando interrupts him. "Just use my phone." He says quickly as he hands him the phone.

Lando and I stand awkwardly in the same place. "Get close." Zak says gesturing for us to get closer. 

Lando doesn't make an effort to move so I move slightly closer to him, so that our arms were just touching through the fabric of our jumpers.

"Lean in." Andrea says- more to Lando who is very obviously leaning away from me as much as he can.

Lando huffs quietly and leans closer to me, his arm now touching me quite a bit. 

"And smile!" Zak exclaims and I smile for the cameras. I glance at Lando to see him putting on a little smile as well- surprising me.

As soon as Zak puts the phone down Lando is quick to jump away from me and retrieve his phone from Zak.

"Well, that will be all from both of you for now." Zak says turning to us and we both listen to him.

"As you already know Lando, the team Christmas dinner event is on Saturday the 23rd of December. Juliette as a member of this team you are also invited." 

That's just a week away.

I nod along with his words and I glance at Lando briefly to see him completely zoned out.

"Andrea is going to show you around the MTC and then you will be announced internally within the team as the new driver, Lando you are encouraged to stay for this." Zak says pointedly at him as if he knows he won't stay.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

"Lando. Im being serious." Zak says with a smile through gritted teeth to ease the tension.
