val groaned as she shuffled about in her bed, her blanket messily scrawled all over her, intertwined in her legs. her curtains not fully closed were now allowing the bright sunlight to fall directly on her face.
she turned facing away from the light as she let out a muffled groan in her pillow, she slowly sat up with a defeated sigh knowing she wouldn't be able to fall asleep anymore.
sleepily, she reached her hand in the general direction of her nightstand as she grabbed her phone, blinking in surprise as the phone flashed on, blinding her. a mere moment later after her eyes had adjusted she scanned through her notifications to see if there was anything of importance, seeing messages from the groupchat she smiled. looking at the time, she got up realising she needed to get ready for her day ahead.
with a slow sluggish walk she made it into the bathroom, turning on the water as she prepared for a shower.
after she completed her morning routine which had consisted of doing her skincare, her makeup and choosing an outfit, did she finally open her phone and quickly scan through a couple of the last messages in the group chat as she replied to people.
just in that moment a reminder went off on her phone 'birthday gift shopping!'. she grinned at the reminder that angelina's birthday was getting closer.
she quickly switched tabs and opened her messages with matt.
