6. Bad day

Y/N POV

I am at work taking some notes taking an order from a customer as I work as a waitress at a nice restaurant. I go to the back to let the chiefs know about the food to make. I walk to the front to wait to see if more people need my help or anything like. I was not doing much until I get called over and can tell the customer does not seem pleased about something. "What the hell is this?" He said mad as he seems to be in his 40's maybe 50's. I look at the plate as it seems ok as I see is steak, mash potatoes along with some green pease and a bit of corn.

"Uh I see a plate of steak with mashed potatoes, green peas and corn?" I asked confusedly as I do not know what is going on. "Well you are right but the steak is not cooked correctly" he said madly while I look around and I see other people staring but not intervene with the issue. "Well sir how did you wanted the steak to be cooked? Rare? Medium rare" I asked as I'll happily take the plate and have the chief cook it.

"I want it medium rare and this is not cooked correctly and the peas, I don't want the peas" he said looking at me pissed off. "Ok sir I'll do that then I'll have the chief make sure is cooked medium rare and no peas even though I did informed you with everything, and you respond with yes with everything" I said trying to deescalate the issue.

I grabbed the plate and take it to the back for the chief while I try to calm myself down and try not to think much. As maybe it is just a small hiccup for the day and I would not let it ruin my day. I went back to the front and help another customer for a refill on their drinks as they needed a refill. Once that was done I went back to grab the plate as I make sure the steak is cooked how he liked it with no peas as well. I go take it to him and put it in front of him "here you go sir I hope you enjoy the meal" I said as I walked away and continue my work.

About 2 hours after it started to get crazy as I was running around helping customers like a headless chicken as it got crazy busy, but luckily I was not the only waitress doing the work. I kept walking around quick until I heard the same guy I helped earlier yell for me. I turn around as he makes hand gestures for me to come over so I mentally groan but put on my face smile. I started to walk to the guy "yes sir?" I ask politely even though I did not want to be near him. "I said I wanted the check are you deaf or something" he said annoyed while I sigh as I nod.

"Got it give me few minutes to get the check" I said as I walk away as I was getting the bill for him making sure I got the correct one. While I walked some dumbass had their leg out as I tripped over not looking. "Ouch" I said as I try not to cry as it really sting and more with the dress being a bit short. "Oh my gosh are you ok? I'm so sorry?" The old guy said helping me up as I smile softly. "I'm fine sir thank you and I'm sorry for not seeing your leg" I said as I wipe myself down to clean off the dust that I got as I walk to the rude guy.

"Here is your bill" I said as in few minutes I will head home to be with my girlfriend. As he snatched the bill off my hand as he put the card on it and slams it back on my hand. I mentally wince as I try not to say anything while he looks at me.

"Finally now hurry up I don't have enough time" he said shooing me off while I go pay on his card. Makes me want to take some money for the tip but I don't want no issue so I did what I had to do. After I was done I go back to him and give him the card and the receipt.

"Here you go sir, I hope you have a nice evening tonight" I said smiling a bit as I walk away thinking I am done with him. "You know if you wanted a tip you would have said something" he said getting up and walk to me while I turn around to see him.

"Well sir I don't beg people for tips is how they feel and since I did not satisfy you with the service I doubt you give me a tip" I said looking at him as he frowns and walks off. I breath in relief as I am almost done with my shift as I been here since 12pm and I leave at 8pm.

Once it was time for me to leave I take off my apron as I grab my phone and realized my phone is dead "fuck..I hope Faye does not get worried" I said as I quickly grab my things and go to my car as I realized it was raining. I get in as I try to turn on my car but it wouldn't turn on.

"No no please" I said begging to whoever is listening to my begging to turn on the car as I don't even live that far but is not just a close walk for me. Once I realized is not gonna turn on I get out of the car as I try to find a ride from my coworkers but none of them get out of the same time as me. And my stupid ass didn't bring money for the bus as I mainly use card to pay for things (Not sure if they accept card while riding the bus as is been so long since I rode one). I start walking while I was getting wet as I didn't bring an umbrella as I did not know it was gonna rain.

About 40 minute walk I get to the house as I am drenched from head to toe. I go to the front door as I unlock it as I slowly walk in being mindful of not getting anything wet. I take off my shoes slowly thinking maybe Faye is asleep even though is 8:40 almost gonna be 9pm.

"Y/N is that you?" I hear Faye coming to the door as she widen her eyes seeing the view I am in. My clothes wet, my knee scraped from the fall and most of all my red eyes as I kept crying thinking why me.

"Ohhh baby" she said frowning as she walks to me and pulls me into a hug not caring she will get wet while I cling onto her crying. "Bad day?" She ask knowing the answer would be while I nod not wanting to talk about it.

"Go take a warm shower and I'll do some tea for us ok?" She said as she pulls my head while she pat my butt a bit while I walk to our shared room. I go take a nice warm shower as I try not to let it ruin my mood as I know Faye will make me smile. Once I was done I put lotion, deodorant and such on my body then put on some pjs aka Faye's shirt and my spandex.

I walk to the living room seeing a cute setup which consists blankets, pillow, snacks on the small table along with drinks. Last but not least my favorite movie on while I see my sweet loving girlfriend on the couch waiting for me.

"Is this all for me?" I said smiling as I get on the couch and quickly cuddle into her happily. She smiles "yes baby I did it for you as you seem to have a bad day, but no worries I am here for you" she said smiling as she leans to kiss my head softly.

I playfully pout "you missed a spot" I said and pucker my lips a bit while she chuckles and kiss me softly. Now this is the best day after a very bad day I had few hours ago, I am glad to have her in my life. I would not know what to do without her in my life as she been through with me in my ups and downs.
