the next evening arrived in a flurry of last-minute checks, glam touches, and deep breaths. sienna stepped out of her room, pausing at the top of the stairs as she took in her reflection in the hallway mirror.
the emerald dress matt had helped her choose hugged her figure perfectly, the rich color setting off her hair and eyes, just as he'd envisioned.
she smoothed her hands down the silk, willing her nerves to settle as she heard voices downstairs.
matt, chris, nick, elise, and marianna were waiting by the door, their chatter filling the room.
matt glanced up first when he heard a shuffle upstairs, his eyes immediately locking on her as a grin broke across his face.
he adjusted the collar of his sharp black suit, which complemented sienna's dress in a way that looked almost intentional.
"sie," he murmured, walking up to her, his hand automatically extending toward her. "i knew that dress would be stunning, but... wow. i feel like we're going to a royal ball, honestly "
she blushed, casting him a grateful smile as her fingers slipped into his. "it's all thanks to my stylist, and thankfully we're not going to a royal ball my dress is way to short for that" she replied, her voice just loud enough for him to hear.
his thumb brushed lightly over her knuckles, his eyes lingering on hers as he leaned close. "well, either way you look... amazing. everyone there's going to be staring at you. might even get a little jealous."
"guess you'll have to stay close then, won't you?" she teased, her eyes bright with a challenge.
matt's grin widened. "like i'd be anywhere else." he emphasized with a flirty wink.
