A/N: I just want to say that I don't own The Prince of Tennis in any way. All I own is the plot I will be using.

The Prince of Tennis belongs to its rightful owner.

2nd Person P.O.V.

You slightly hummed as you thumbed the crisp pages of the book you were currently absorbed in while enjoying the silence of the school's pool and at the same time soaking your feet in the clear, cool water. You definitely have a different taste from other girls your age. Instead of sappy romance novels, you gave mystery and gore a pedestal in your mind.

And because you were unaware of your surroundings, you were unable to notice and hear the footsteps that broke the quiet and serene air of your safe haven. You regretted the moment you dropped your guard when you started reading, because right then your book's fate was sealed.

"So this is where you hide." A sudden voice surprised you making you jerk and let the piece of literature slip from your hands. You watched as the book you were reading fell into the water with a light splash.

You felt a bit irritated finally recognizing the owner of the voice as you spared a quick glance over your shoulder before proceeding to pick up the soaked book out of the water. You might as well try to dry the book when you get home. Releasing a silent sigh you turned to your visitor with a blank face that people were already accustomed to.

"Echizen-san, with all due respect, I would appreciate it if you would not startle me like you did just now." You say, as you did your best to get as much water you can get out of the pages without ruining it. Acting as if he had not heard a thing, Ryoma slowly sat down beside you before asking you something that was completely off topic.

"Why are you so formal, (Y/F/N)?"

"It is impolite to refer to someone with their first name without asking for permission, Echizen-san." Thoughtfully frowning, you still answered him. He was probably the only person you knew who called anyone with just about anything that came to his mind.

"Anyway, what is it that you need, Echizen-san?" surely he had something he needs since he came looking for you, right? He was silent at first, as if thinking and picking the right words to tell you.

"... Nothing, I was just curious to where you disappear after club hours." he finally answered, which by the way surprised you again. Turning your attention to your wristwatch you found out that the clubs ended about 25-30 minutes ago.

"You finished tennis practice." This wasn't a question, but a statement. A statement that made you realize that you completely lost track of time. "Forgive me for forgetting the time."

"Hn. It's okay, you would've probably been bored anyway." You thanked the heavens that Ryoma was a bit of a passive person sometimes. However, you still felt a bit guilty for not being there to watch him practice.

"I will be there tomorrow." You promised him while staring at him straight in the eyes. Your (Y/E/C) sparkling with determination even though your whole face was serious. Ryoma couldn't do anything but nod a bit and slightly chuckle at your resolve before standing up and taking your things in his hand that was carrying his tennis bag.

"Let's go. They would be closing the school in about an hour or so." He helped you stand up and waited as you put on your shoes.

"I am actually surprised that you searched for me, Echizen-san." You admitted quietly as you both made your way outside. Ryoma let out an annoyed breath as you referred to him using his last name again.

"Call me Ryoma, anyway Ryuzaki and her friend would most likely chew me out if they found out that I didn't come and find you." You let a soft grin slip on your features as he let an annoyed sound escape from his lips. Taking your hand in his own free hand and intertwining it he added.

"Besides, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I left my girlfriend without making sure if she was still waiting for me?"
