I found myself in the same room where Bella had once sat. The morning light streamed through the curtains, casting a soft glow around the space, while the wedding wasn't scheduled to start until the afternoon. I took a moment to study my reflection in the mirror. My hair fell in gentle waves, framing my face, but the faint shadows under my eyes hinted at the restless night I'd had. Despite that, I didn't think I looked too bad. I knew that Alice would work her makeup magic and transform me into someone radiant, just as she had done for Bella. The anticipation of the day ahead filled me with a mix of excitement and nerves.
Rosalie suddenly appeared from behind me, her hands deftly weaving a masterpiece into my hair. I had wanted a style that incorporated nature, and she was skilfully adding delicate flowers, carefully arranging them to create a beautiful look.
"All done," she said, letting her hands fall from my hair as she reached for the hand mirror on the table. Holding it up, she angled it so I could see the back of my hair. I couldn't help but gasp at the stunning masterpiece she'd created.
"Rosalie," I murmured, her name escaping softly as I took in her work, truly speechless. She just smiled, knowing she'd left me in awe. Both she and Alice wore different style gowns, but both wore the same deep green colour. A choice Alice had made to match the bridesmaids' dresses to a nature-inspired one. Bella also wore one too, no doubt handpicked by Alice herself.
Alice had already worked her magic with my makeup, crafting a look that was both elegant and subtle, perfect for the day. My eyes held a hint of green—a soft, earthy shimmer that brought a touch of nature to my gaze. She had carefully blended earthy tones around my eyelids, making the green pop in just the right way, so it complemented the overall theme without being too bold. My cheeks were brushed with a soft flush of pink, and my lips were painted in a delicate, rosy hue.
"There she is," came my Grams' voice as she stepped into the room. I turned to see her pause, her face softening with awe as she took in the sight of me. Her eyes shimmered, and I could see the tears starting to well up. "You look absolutely beautiful." she breathed; her voice thick with emotion.
"I haven't even put my dress on yet," I replied softly, standing up from the chair and walking toward my Grams. She looked stunning herself, dressed in a light green satin gown that caught the light as she moved. "Is everyone here yet?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at her. We'd chosen to hold the ceremony at sundown—it could traditionally be done at either sunrise or sunset, but sunset felt right.
"There are still a few people on their way, but don't worry—we've got time," my Grams assured me. I let out a breath I hadn't realised I was holding.
"It's time for the dress!" Alice announced, practically glowing with excitement. She adored every part of this, and I couldn't blame her. I glanced over my shoulder to see her carefully holding the dress in its protective bag.
It didn't take long for Alice and my Grams to help me slip into the dress; each movement careful. The soft fabric slid over my skin, fitting like it had been crafted for me alone, thanks to Alice's meticulous planning. She'd had it custom-fitted and shipped in, making sure every detail aligned with my frame. I glanced up to see my Grams, her eyes shining with adoration as she took in the sight. The look on her face was enough to make me realise that this dress, and this moment, was everything I'd hoped it would be.
