Tere bin namumkin apna guzara hai,
Har dua mein maine tujhko hi maanga hai"It's the CEO of the Raichand group of Industries, Ekaksh Raichand."
It feels like everything blanks out as soon as the words reach my ears. My eyes widen as I snap my head in Declan's direction and stare at him in disbelief. His eyes linger on the car for a minute before he fishes out his phone and starts scrolling as if whatever he just told me wasn't information so big to have shaken my life.
I cannot happen to process anything, everything slowly turns dark and blank. My body loses balance, my hands start trembling while my knees start feeling weak. I can feel my palms sweating as Declan continues to explain the details of the gala and meeting but apparently his words fall deaf on my ears.
The only thing that echoes in my ears is his name. Again and again. Like a fucking loop. Surrounding me with all the memories, flashbacks, moments that were shared between us, everything that I have worked my life burying in my heart.
My body starts shaking and moving on its own, my feet wavers and my heels make it worse, making me lose my balance. I raise my hands to balance myself, wanting to stand straight, but I end up losing it, my body and mind aren't in my control anymore.
But before I can fall on the ground Declan grabs a hold of my wrist and helps me stand straight. As my body jolts harshly from the impact of all the events that happened in the blink of an eye, I gain my conscience and focus back.
"You okay? What happened, Amelia?" He asks, his eyebrow knits in confusion.
I gulp and take my wrist away from his hold, even though he wasn't making me uncomfortable or awkward. He was simply holding my wrist, helping me stand straight.
Composing myself and fixing my dress, I take a deep breath and shake my head, "Nothing. I just felt a little dizzy. Maybe because I didn't take my medicine. So, what were you saying about the deal and the associates?" I ask, wanting to know more.
I know I am not prepared for it, but still, I ask him. Declan motions for me to walk to his car and opens the door for me. I get inside the backseat and he closes the door before circling the car and coming to sit beside me.
