Valentino:
Today is the day.
The day my wife and I are official - well to each other.
I know she will look even more beautiful and breathtaking than usual, her deep, hypnotic eyes. Her soft, long hair.
Standing in front of the mirror, I straighten out my tie. Is it bad that in a way I wish my father were here to tell me it's going to be okay? Or how smart I look? Maybe I wish I was still a kid. I don't know.
I take 3 deep breaths.
In through my nose, out through my mouth.
I just need to put on a smile for my pretty girl.
Running a shaky hand through my hair, I step outside and make my way to the chapel.
The walk isn't long. I passed Elizabeth's room. Laughter from natascha is heard.
Once I make it to the front of the chapel, I stand in front of the crowd.
People fill every single seat.
Elizabeths family sits at the front right, her brothers and parents.
Antonio gives me a slight nod, tears forming in his eyes.
I nod back. For the first time, I think we established a newfound peace.
I'm glad.
I catch the eye of my brother. He's aged.
He looks so much worse, but he tried. You can tell.
His suit is well ironed, he shaved his beard, and his hair is slicked back - I got my favourite hairstyle from him.
It's funny how you can see how much he influenced me growing up.
Suddenly, a wedding song begins to play, and natascha is revealed.
She walks up the aisle in a white dress - isn't the bride supposed to wear white?
She scatters petals across the floor. Smiling through the tears of happiness that drip down her cheeks.
Once she makes it to the front, out comes my wife.
My jaw slightly falls at the sight of the goddess before me.
The woman I've spent my whole life needing wears a perfect black dress. Flowers are engraved across the silk. It has a skirt that drags behind her.
A veil falls in front of her porcelain face.
A face I need to see.
The dress has a corset that hugs her slim figure. Her breasts seem to spill out of it so simply.
My god, how perfectly picturesque she looks right now.
A breath I didn't know was held in escapes.
I was so engrossed in her beauty that I forgot how to breathe.
She stands in front of me, and the pope begins to speak.
"We are gathered here today to witness the wedding ceremony of Valentino Rafaello and Elizabeth Angelo." He announces, his voice loud and strong.
I smile at my wife. We don't break eye contact as the pope speaks. It seems as if our souls are drawn together.
We understand and love each other so deeply that I wish to live this marriage in every single life I endure.
I must have zoned out of the popes speech because Elizabeth starts to begin her speech.
"Valentino, when I first saw you, I knew we would love each other.
I knew that because of the way you looked at me, the way it was just so easy to talk to you.
I know you aren't the best at communicating-" She looks at the audience and a small, quiet laugh comes from them.
"But you're still my favourite person in the entire world.
I know you love me, and I know how much I love you.
Will a heart still love after it stops beating?" She finishes, my heart is weak.
I thin my lips into a line, the pope begins to speak again until he stops and it's time for my speech.
"Elizabeth, baby. Do you remember the first time we met? And you had the phone call from... Nate?
Do you remember how we flirted for the first time? Or do you remember the first time we kissed? "
A tear falls down her cheek.
"I know I do. I will never be able to live on if you die, my love. I need you.
Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans, and falling in love with you was the best thing to happen to me.
You are my lifeline, my heart, and my brain.
I would say something inappropriate here but I know you would say it would be awkward since your family is here - but I dont care"
She laughs.
The pope begins to speak.
"Let's continue with the vows." The pope restarts.
"Do you, Valentino Rafaello, take Elizabeth Angelo to be your be-wedded wife, through sickness and in health, for richer and poorer?"
"I do."
"Do you, Elizabeth Angelo, take Valentino Rafaello to be your be-wedded husband, through sickness and in health, for richer and poorer?" He says and for a moment I wonder if she would say it.
"I do."
"You may ki-" He begins, but i pull off her veil, bring her forward, she is pushed against me, our lips connect, finally giving me the touch I needed.
My brother seems to clap - on his own though.
He stands up and cheers - still on his own.
He doesn't care though, he has always been a romantic.
Our mouths still move in sync, not breaking the connection, until I move to speak in her ear, shivers dive down her spine.
"I'm going to fu-" a gun shot goes off.
My brother has shot my wife.
Shots erupt in the crowd before me, people die as my wife's eyes begin to lose their colour. Her skin going paler and paler.
Bloods drips from the side of her face, as she falls down to her knees.
Anger doesn't seem to take over me.
Just sadness.
I grab my gun from my waistband and shoot every single person in the crowd.
Even people i love.
I kill my family, her family, other mafia families, natascha, the pope, guests, the guards. Everyone.
A thunderstorm of tears drive down my cheeks, my face Immediately sodden with the salty mixture.
I dive to my knees, hugging her dead body as the blood soaks through her dress. A single tear has rolled down her cheek.
Her chest has come to a complete stop, her eyebrows have fallen down, and she has become deadweight.
She's dead.
She's dead.
She's dead.
She's dead, and I'm not.
My wife.
My beautiful wife, dead. A corpse.
I don't know what to do.
I take the gun, a single bullet remaining.
I will spend all Eternity with her.
I raise the gun underneath my chin.
There's one thing I need to know before I do this.
I pull the trigger, my sight of her and everyone slowly clouding up.
Can a heart still break even after it stops beating?
